The problem is they have deals with movie chains that probably makes that illegal.

to that point, the major chains Regal/Amc has streaming services now so they can maybe do a 1 month exclusive through them. Let AMC stubs members have it count towards their tickets, and for non AMC stubs or Regal subscription members just do a reduced on demand price

That would be stupid. They would lose money doing that. Reducing the window from blurays/DVDs to steaming is one thing but straight on streaming will lose them money. Netflix could get away with that but Disney can't

Plus, when the pandemic is over and you put this in theaters it is a guaranteed win because people will be fiending to get out of the house.

id take the hit and just toss it on disney plus, make everything up next yr.

Depending on how stuff currently in production that is supposed to release March 2021 might not be ready. So they save money just waiting a year instead of scrambling to finish

they put this online tomorrow for $30 and they make a ton of money. they put it on Disney + in July, and they get a ton of new subs. You release this a couple weeks in the winter before Eternals for people who want to see it on the big screen, you make a nice quick score. Every movie post Widow is gonna pull down a billy, no reason this should be pushing back the schedule, imo.

Everything probably got pushed back due to not being done with post production (Eternals) and delay in pre production (everything else)
