His numbers did plummet:
Black Panther #1 - 253,259 (like I said this was HEAVILY promoted, excitement was high for the book)
Black Panther #2 - 77,654 (a big drop after the first issue was expected, nothing to worry about......yet)
Black Panther #3 - 75,037
Black Panther #4 - 72,302
Black Panther #5 - 83,756 (oh shyt, a sales bump, this might be good news)
Black Panther #6 - 58,746 (......guess they didn't care for it )
Black Panther #7 - 60,857
Black Panther #8 - 43,451
Black Panther #9 - 39,123
Black Panther #10 - 38,741
Black Panther #11 - 35,492
Black Panther #12 - 37,612 (The finale of Coates "epic" story......maybe this will keep readers around and bring others back...)
Black Panther #13 - 30,509 (welp, guess not )
And for the record I didn't say no one was feeling his run, I said while some people like it a LOT of people aren't feeling it, which is why he's been hemorrhaging readers. His book lost over 20k readers from issue 5 to 6 and lost over 10k from issues 7 to 8. How the fukk is that not a plummet?

Do you not understand the comic book industry or something?
That's a slightly above average number for a #12, especially for a non A-list hero. The jumpings from four to 6 are trivial. You can't explain why he had a 10k jump from four to five anymore than the drops he get later on. The only explaniable thing abou the affect of drops is that they're purely natural.
Preist and Hudlin actually did less on their #12. Did you know what their sells were? Did 33k for Priest's #12 mean he was going to get fired?
You're not saying anything.

He's DLCSo wait, is Black Panther in game day one, or is he DLC?
I don't wan't a Black Panther solo game.....Marvel video games generally suck unless it's something by Capcom or a Lego game.
This can work.A BP game by Telltales would be dope, imho.
So now you're moving the goalposts
You claimed his sales numbers weren't plummeting (which they are), and now all of a sudden "the drops are natural". A fluctuation of a few thousand here and there is natural, Coates was losing 10k and 20k readers from month to month.
And my point was never that his book was selling poorly, just that his sales were falling because people who gave the book a shot didn't like it and ended up dropping it.
My original point was about synergy between the film and the comic. If new readers show up looking for something close to the MCU version of T'Challa they're not gonna stick around after reading Coates version (which already happened with the first "season"). The book isn't selling so well that Coates can't be replaced with a writer that'll do a more comic book accurate version of the character.
Like I said before Priest and Hudlin never got the promotion that Coates has gotten. Coates firstr issue had 7 or 8 variant covers, was included in lootcrate deals, and talked about on multiple media platforms before the first issue shipped. Hudlin got a few variant covers for the the first six issue, a house of M tie in, and an X-men crossover. Priest's book was just thrown out there with virtually no promotion at all.
And just to be clear I'm not a blind Coates hater, I've defended dude in this thread a few times and I've said he's gotten better with the last 2 issues, those first 12 were trash though.
