It should not be a mix of African cultures it wouldn't make sense especially if you don't factor in colonialism? If it was not touched by colonialism wakanda would be a homogenous society not heterogeneous meaning everyone speaks the same language and adheres to the same customs and heritage

True, in reality it wouldn't make sense due to the factors you've mentioned. But we are talking about a comic book universe that contains a bunch of stuff that are flat out impossible.

In light of that (and that the positives of Wakanda far outweigh the negatives), I think we can let that particular aspect of Wakanda slide, don't you? :manny:

When the movie drops T'Challa is going to be a much bigger deal in the mainstream and people are going to want more.....So how exactly is Marvel going to reconcile the dope movie version with Coates "Wack Panther"?

Something is gonna have to give at some point. With the sales declining maybe Marvel will kick Coates off the book and give us an actual comic book writer that actually likes the character.

"kick Coates off the book" :mjlol:

Coates has the highest selling BP run of all time. Coates is going to get his 60 issues, breh.

If Priest and Hudlin didn't get kicked off for their sales, neither is Coates.

Sales is all that matters to Marvel.

Priest held on for 6. And Hudlin had 4.

They hired Coates for a four year minimum in mind at the least.

You're letting your hate goggles blurry the logical side of your brain.

The movie - more than anything, will actually bolter the sales of his book.

I'd imagine by the time Febuary comes around, Coates will assigned with telling a story that aligns more with the roll out of the movie for hype purposes. Coates is doing his 2nd big arc right now which should take less time than first.

Also Christopher Preist hated Black Panther, or at least found him boring when Marvel gave it to him. Motherfukker just wanted to write Daredevil. And he didn't care so much about the racial politcs surrounding the character. He created Everett Ross to specifically pander to cacs.

But obviously he didn't need to like the character to do his job. So I don't know why you're stuck on that "he doesn't like the character" sentiment.

'Black Panther' Teaser Trailer Racks Up 89M Views in First 24 Hours (Exclusive)

This panther is looking sharp.

Judging by the numbers, viewers are ready to take a trip to the African nation of Wakanda.

The teaser trailer for Black Panther, Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie based on the character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, generated 89 million views in the first 24 hours of its debut.

The spot debuted Friday during the first quarter of Game 4 of the NBA finals on ABC. It was then released on various social media platforms.

The numbers are welcome news for Marvel as it shows strong interest in the upcoming stand-alone film, which is a gutsier venture for the studio that has in many cases relied on the familiarity of its main cast of Avengers to float its stand-alone films. The movie features an unprecedented predominantly-black cast and no A-listers, and, his appearance in Captain America: Civil War notwithstanding, stars a character that is not largely known on the level of other superheroes.

Chadwick Boseman is playing T’Challa, aka Black Panther, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda who must defend his people from threats internal and external. Ryan Coogler directed the movie that hits Feb.16, 2018.

The 89 million figure includes the 19 millions views from those watching the NBA finals.

While the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok trailer is Marvel’s, and parent company Disney’s, most watched trailer ever (with 136 million views), Panther lands in the top 3 of most watched Marvel trailer content.

Panther surpasses the views for teasers for top Marvel and Disney-released movies such as Captain America: Civil War (61 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (55 million), and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (52 million).

Panther was also massive on Twitter, generating 349,000 mentions in 24 hours. It generated more mentions than the NBA game on which it debuted, second only to the launch of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser.

:ohhh:yo thecoli cld really help start a wave with thsi film, i know most of us are gonna see this multiple times it wld be dope if we cld post all our ticket stubs as a competition or a show of our support then have brehs with good social media accounts or platforms share our "wakanda ticket challenge" gettiing theoli more exposure and maybe then get it to trend on twitter since thats a big platform and where most trends or topics thrive the most. black people set all the trends anyway so might as well. let marvel see our marketing and advertising power when they give us a well represented black hero by a black cast and team
