I know it's weird to think about, but Marvel is actually releasing the biggest black movie ever made.

The cast is predominantly black.

The director is black.

Most of the crew is black.

The screenwriter is black.

The executive producer is black.

The movie has a 100+ budget and is going to get a huge marketing push.

This film is going to be historic and everybody should be celebrating it.

I honestly was worried that they'd gloss over or outright eliminate some of the traditional tribal garb in order to avoid the "stereotype" claims.

Lol you have societies that still exist where people are painted white for symbolic/ritual purposes. Dudes need to visit Africa instead of just wanting Africa to be presented like how White people present their things. It seems people just want an American movie with black people, and further exposes Western ignorance of anything they don't understand being "primitive". Ironically this is the entire theme of Black Panther of how everyone assumes Wakanda is "primitive" because they simply don't understand it.

Just shows how far gone /disconnected people are from Africa where they won't even tolerate black people doing things that don't look like what they are used to seeing in the West.

Watch this movie is going to jumpstart Afrofuturism in film and is going to force black filmmakers to think beyond the usually cliche black genres that are comedy, drama and slave films. If this movie succeeds then we're getting more afrofuturism and films depicting black hegemony. Just watch.
