I said this shyt in the original Black Panther thread from last year. Trailers ruin too much. Saw the original trailer, made sure to see NOTHING after that. I didn't have a single spoiler hit me at all.

That's why I'm pissed at the Infinity War trailer that's already out, with that major spoiler involving Vision right there in the middle.

Is that really a major spoiler though? :ld: I mean...anyone who’s paid attention knows Vision has the mind stone and thus would know Thanos is going to go after him

I prefer the M'Baku waterfall fight and monologue.

No suit.
No claws.
No powers.
Just a boy. Unfit to lead.

His intro with the Jabari tribe chanting just gave me chills. Winston Duke has such a presence. He had the gravitas and delivery I wish Killmonger had.
You hung up on this MBJ stuff, but he played his part great during the Waterfall fight.

Both were excellent.

M'Baku brought the tradition, but in a way regal perspective. Killmonger brought that lost westerner, but with swagger and anger vibe. They both brought something different to the table during the waterfall fights.

That "Is This your King" shyt was dope. :yeshrug:

This was part of my favorite scene of the whole movie

When T'Challa's walking out the bugatti spaceship and everyone is singing his name like a church sermon :wow:

absolutely chilling

Then Jabari tribe crashing the party with M'Baku like  while T'Challa got that look like :demonic:

Then the fight itself :banderas:

Yo... that was incredible directing/acting/cinematography/stage presence/everything
During that scene I knew we were in for a classic :wow:

M'Baku bodied that scene :banderas:I wish he had toned up just a bit to look more intimidating but Cooglers camera work is:wow:He directed the hell out of those warerfall scenes and my personal favorite was the casino. Okoye going to work and how the camera shot moves from each character so seamlessly :blessed:

That Jabari tribe intro was dope. That chanting was wow. IMO Duke was more convincing then MBJ. He killed his role.

It's a small detail but I loved how they called for their body guards for the fight and they gather around them.

The sound editing is also great. Okoye's spear just sounds lethal.

Is there anyway the next movie is even half as great as this one? I doubt the next villain is as interesting, grounded in reality and sympathetic as Killmonger. The plot was not only a complete departure from what we are accustomed to from Marvel but uniquely apppropriate for the time.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I seen it in IMAX and it looked great. A lot of the movie was shot specifically for IMAX.

So I dunno. :yeshrug:

Fred.

My first 3 times was in IMAX (the real IMAX as well, not them Liemax joints:wtb:) and while the movie overall looks fantastic, there definitley were noticeable bad shots of CGI. I say namely the fall sequence and other bits during that fight.

Anything is possible. Marvel just has to stray away from certain plots or else they'd become repetitive. So in the next movie, don't have someone else try to gun for the throne because we've had that twice now in the MCU, don't do an invasion because we're getting that in Infinity War and don't destroy Wakanda because we just destroyed Asgard and because it would take away one of the reasons why we love black panther in the first place.
