Another little part that I loved is when killmonger first walks in the throne room with that beat playing and the camera panning from upside down to right side up. That was dope af.

illest scene in the movie

Did anyone get a Nino Brown/New Jack City vibe from that scene?

But it is.....

He's so thirsty for power he doesn't even chill and plan first. He's so focused on the throne he cuts off all attachments to get it, even kills his girlfriend. He's so resolute that it's all about him he destroys the flower that could restore him if he gets injured or god forbid, he has a child. That child could never be Black Panther 'cause daddy done burned all of the plants that would help him pass it down. There's masculinity and there's this hyper souped up macho shyt that ultimately doesn't serve the person or anyone around them well in the long run.

Was just thinking. If this took place a week after Civil War and T'Challa revealed Wakanda's true power right after, the world should be full of vibranium by the time Thanos shows up, right? Theoretically of course.

Or that'll be the reason why Thanos learns where the final stone is located.

All great civilizations were built on “toxic masculinity”

There was only 1 throne in Wakanda and that throne was only for a Straight Man.

I ain’t seen no trannies or gay nikkas have a vogue battle for the throne in Wakanda :dame:

IMO they included Klaw to improve the White (marketing) quotient and then removed him from proceedings early in the movie.. It was a marketing finesse.

They could have left Klaw for BP 2 with no significant changes to the script, that is how little he did.

It would have been simple to remove him.

Just refer to what happened with Klaw in the past. Klaw was not needed for the robbery. Remove him from the sale. Erik could have turned up with just the necklace. T'challa and W'kabi's fallout could have been T'challa just refusing to hunt down Klaw or Klaw affiliates or vibranium thieves in general. Maybe have W'kabi be upset because his men have to defend the borders and his family/people are dying doing it. CIA could have crossed paths with Lupita during her mission or have Bilbo get shot during the botched sale.

Then more time could have been spent fleshing out Killmonger. Maybe spend more time on the 3rd quarter of the movie (when Killmonger became King) which felt a bit rushed. Also more time could have been spent on the subversive / spy element of Wakanda. The line 'did you think that we would forget you', the lip-markings and the secret society type elements were underused. Wakandans being everywhere, unseen and superior is something that has (had?) a lot of potential and should be used more.

I get that you guys like Killmonger but spare me. Klaw is one of Black Panthers oldest villains and one point chief rivals and the person who was responsible for his father death in the comics. Ok you want to go with just the MCU? Klaw is the link to the avengers who went to stop him getting the vibranium to Ultron. He is one of the many ties that bind the MCU together. I understand this a huge moment for blacks in pop culture as we never had a super hero that our kids could look up to that looks like us. But Black Panther is a part of a large narrative that goes beyond his stories and they all must connect to tell that large narrative. Without Klaw the story wouldn’t progress.

I'll say this. Both T'Challa and Killmonger had stances any Black American can both agree and disagree with....but you'll never see me drag T'Challa through the mud like ya'll doing Killmonger. :francis:

Let me find out yall leaving children out here for dead just to look down on them when society ruins them :iseeu:

See this is where it falls apart. Killmonger has been training his whole life, Killmonger has been a member of a CIA covert military operation. Killmonger, Killmonger, Killmonger.

Those military dogs he trained with were small units, they had group think and singular purposes. You really think all of Killmonger's training and passion for this cause would just magically infect the few Wakandan war dogs they had? War dogs that grew up in an isolationist country that have never waged war? Matter of fact, let's forget Wakandan war dogs. Black Americans who have grown in a country where they eat and breathe anti-blackness for breakfast lunch and dinner? He didn't think this shyt through at all. I'm telling you his ego and lust for vengeance and power clouded logic.

This is precisely why we need a spin-off film :blessed:
