Exactly, couldn't have said any better. It's not specifically this show but just black superhero shows/comics in general, you see the same with Luke Cage (at least the Netflix show anyway) and Static. It's fine sometimes but I'd like to see a little more variety. Seems like they tend to write black characters as either paragons of morality or stereotypical ignorant thugs with not much in between.
Right. Don't mean the show won't (continue to) be good or that it's automatically some c00n shyt, but it's disheartening that the only way they feel they can make a show like this is to be basic and based on real life shyt. nikkas like fantasy too, otherwise we wouldn't be watching a damn CW comic book show. You also limit the level of interest the average cac can be expected to have in the show when they can neither relate NOR suspend disbelief when watching it.
