You don't know politics. This is not about being over confident. The people have spoken (so far) and the trends are hardwired at this point. It's about to be August. We talking about Biden having a >7% national poll average against an incumbent president.
It takes an awfully shytty president to be staring at those types of numbers, even in July.
To me it's always been about trends, not polls. Numbers don't lie. Those poll numbers in PA and MI are vicious and absolutely a precursor to what's going to happen nationwide in November unless something substantially changes.
For everyone talking about 2016 the reality is that HRC was never this far ahead in the polls at this stage, her unfavorable numbers were super high and Trump had no body of work to vote against.
Don’t get me wrong because anything can happen between now Nov but trend wise this is a terrible position for a presidential incumbent. Any opposition candidate would always take where Biden is sitting with 100 days out, zero question.
Can Biden get it over the line? Maybe. Hopefully. The trends really can’t be argued so it’s nonsense in shouting down people looking at those and seeing a realistic path for a Biden win. Sure there is going to be some hyperbole but it’s not a stretch and Trumps actions the last week proves they know it as well.
