There's no question that Trump got washed. Anybody who ever says, "Biden barely won," instantly lets me know they're a butthurt Bernie Bro. :yeshrug:

But that doesn't mean we should let them rest on their laurels. He still underperformed with Latinos, Dems lost House seats when they were projected to gain 5-15, and the Senate comes down to two runoffs in Georgia just to get to 50-50. All those things can be true. It's ok.

In the modern era, anytime an incumbent president that gets beat its an auto-wash. It's happened 3 times in the last 50 years.

plus he lost by the same margin as romney in 2012. back then i remember people saying obamas margin was surprisingly convincing and bigger than expected. and he was the incumbent then

an incumbent losing by four points is pretty bad

No. It would have been closer but Biden still wins the Rust Belt. Michigan is a blue state and PA is his home state. Wisconsin would be in toss up territory. He still wins even if he only carries Hilary's states and takes back the rust belt. GA and AZ and NC being close are partly Covid but also changing demos.

There's a few people who I won't bother naming in here who have no clue about elections but are trying to tell others they know nothing. I'm not going to bother getting into a back and forth with them, they know who they are.
For what it’s worth AZ had more to do with McCain than COVID.

the way the trump campaign is reacting, the polling must have been accurate. they are behaving like people who actually thought they did enough to rig the election and somehow biden's support was enough to overwhelm whatever they did and they're like "how the fukk that happened? it's rigged, they cheated because we cheated and that's the only way they could overcome it."
this is actually probably the most fair and honest election in american history. judging by the lawsuits, trump's team is too stupid to rig the election and not get caught. there were simply too many eyes on this one for anybody to do anything elaborate to the vote, other than the usual voter suppression tactics which are either legal or in a grey area.

I hate how Republicans/conservatives try to co-opt JFK and make it seem like JFK would be a "Republican today". It's a weird obsession :scust:.
fr you got lloyd bentsen sonning dan quayle on this, biden sonning paul ryan on this, the QANON shyt about JFK JR faking his death and coming out of hiding to replace pence (:mjlol:)

like republicans didnt spend the next forty years after JFK died turning ted kennedy into their public enemy number one

Well, yes, many Democrats thought that this election was going to be a repudiation of the entire Republican Party. Instead, it mostly just a repudiation of Trump.

However, Democrats still won and we've never seen before a politician in America with such a cult following that Trump has. Also, Biden underperformed with Latinos in TX and FL but he did fine/well with Latinos in others states like CO, NM, AZ, CA, etc. Additionally, most of the seats Democrats lost in the House were seats that had been held by Republicans for a long time until 2018 or were on borrowed time. Also, remember that the House is gerrymandered to favor the GOP, so the fact that Democrats still have control of the House is a good thing. I don't think anyone could have really seen Cunningham and Gideon losing but Democrats did gain 2 Senate seats and the fact that they still have a shot to control the Senate is not bad.
