i will say this; with the republicans holding the senate, the silver lining will be an unwillingness to go along with trumps bullshyt

their apocalypse scenario was the dems taking all 3 branches. but with republicans keeping the senate, that takes the temperature down from civil war to "oh well, i was tired of trump anyway" for about half of republicans, and certainly mainstream republicans and fox news

once biden wins, and mitch is still leader, we're gonna see a collective unspoken agreement to move the fukk on as a country

You are so sweet with your optimism

This is the abyss for the Republicans. They dwell in the abyss. They want to take the country to the abyss permanently.

For the record, AOC cant run in 2024, shes still too young. But you better believe there is an undercurrent of folks who hate the kumbaya dems. We want an attacker and that will rally people. The same way Trumps bravado has taken a lot of latino voters away. Dem media that cry and complain for year after year about what Trump is doing moves people to support him. It makes it APPEAR he is getting stuff done, even though he's not. Everyone would rally around an attacker from the Dems. Looks at how much praise these speeches get when Obama, Buttigeig, Warren goes in on Trump. We have to stop settling for these moderates and go left, hard left. This was a layup election with a president that did every single thing wrong and not only is the election still in jeopardy, we wont even get 4 seats in the senate for a majority. What more do people need to see?
GA, TX, NC, PA, FL were all in play and should have been blue. Stop all this moral victory crap, Dems lost those states and 45s support has grown nationwide because the people dems put out front are way too soft.

"bu...bu..bu theyre gonna call you a socialist :sadcam:" SO-THE-FUKK-WHAT!!!! You already lost Florida and its trending away so these weak Dems aint getting it done. Even the rise in Dem voters is more-so due to Trump than Biden or anything the Dems are doing. Get tough and get the voting electorate back
This nikka said "We" like he the Chairman and spokesman for the DNC. :mjlol:

A few thoughts based on the last few pages:

- AOC appeals to young progressive liberals, she does not appeal to boomer aged moderates
- This election has shown how impt the Midwest is to Democrats. It's imperative to build a blue wall in the upper Midwest. Gretchen Whitmer as VP on 2024 ticket is not a terrible idea.
- Dems have to groom more moderate Latinos into visible roles. Beto's congressional record aligns as a moderate. Give him a cabinet position.
- Have to change the campaign strategy in FL after losing 2016 election, 2018 Senate seat, and 2020 election. I feel only a moderate and Latino can win the older, conservative demographic there.
- Philly came out in full force for the election yest & Joe campaigned in Philly yest bc he realized how impt PA was. How satisfying it would be if Philly saves the election for Dems after Trump said bad things happen in Philadelphia during one of the debates?
- Josh Hawley & Tom Cotton are positioning themselves for a run in 2024, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cotton gets the GOP nom based on him traveling with incumbent candidates and getting more visibility.

More thoughts later today.

Beto imploded during his presidential run and he lost any shot at winning a national election or in Texas :unimpressed:.

He was wiser staying on that moderate path running for President

I honestly was hoping that he would be a younger Biden this cycle but he really fukked it up.

Charismatic Young Straight White Male Moderate Who Spoke Spanish could have caused Trump all types of problem. Like Obama problems for Trump.

But alas he wasnt charismatic enough on the national stage, had no message to distinguish himself and he had too many erratic sound bites that Republicans would have had a field day with if he miraculously ever got the democratic nomination for president

I honestly do not know who comes after Biden

I know y'all are speaking on AOC and Bernie for some reason even though neither will be running in 2024. But this result is deading Kamala's chances to me. I don't know what coalition she brought in here to help Biden at all.
ill be giving kamala credit if biden takes georgia. and overall i still think she was a fine pick

the only markedly better pick was whitmer but she wasnt in the convo as a 2 year governor

Not to derail with a Biden vs Bernie debate but they're not two easy candidates to compare. Bernie would have to deal with the socialism tag that stupid Americans fear but he's definitely more inspiring of a candidate than Biden whose whole appeal is hes the easiest to settle for. I'm pretty positive Biden still wins, but if the Dems don't go all in on inspiring new voters as opposed to trying to compete for who can be the more moderate party with the GOP then we're all fukked:francis:
Yeah that's what a lot of people here don't get, Bernie would have got all those "both sides are the same" "Biden is racist" "Kamala is a cop" voters that either sat out or voted for Trump.

I think @dora_da_destroyer said it best, black women gonna ride regardless. Having Kamala as VP doesn't turn out black women much more because black women showing up is a given. Biden boxed himself into a corner syaing he'd take a woman and the Dems brightest hispanic star is AOC which was always gonna be a no go this year. I dunno which way the party goes but no more old white men for president needs to be an unofficial rule
