He wants to raise taxes on the wealthy.

Expand student loan relief to the poor and those taking part in public service.

Increase access to affordable Healthcare.

Provide two years of free college.

Are any of those reasonable starting point to see what exactly he's detailing and how his plan can be beneficial while also acknowledging it isn't everything they want?

in addition to to being in favor of a $15/hr min wage and pretty strong on climate.

An objective look at him over the years on climate can be found here

Not sure any of these points will work to be honest. It will depend who you talking to. Personally none of those Biden policies mentioned would make me vote for him. Not sure if those policies would really speak to disgruntled Bernie supporters or a non voter.

I have made progress with people when I point out how Trump policies have actually hurt people, and what his future plans are, alone with talking about long term political strategy. A lot of people really don’t recognize how dangerous Trump really is. They are just sick of voting for the lesser of two evils.

The Democratic Party have some major problems that they need to deal with even if Biden wins. This goes way deeper than this election. There is a lot of contempt for the Party. Especially from younger voters. Believe it or not I see the most contempt for Democrats among Black men 40 and under. The Democratic Party outreach to young Black men have been hideous.

I had Trump winning but a recession now is absolute now, and Joe is picking a huge amount of momentum and he is already trying to promote healing for the party and the country.

It's Joe for the W in November.
Yup, I agree. Trump is going to try to exhaust all economic means and fukk things up even further before the run up though.

So progressive youth don't care about 15/hr min wage, student debt relief, taxing the wealthy, and climate change?

Maybe that's why they didn't show up for Bernie either. :ehh:

I plan on writing in Bernie. However the way this administration is handling this coronavirus situation is beyond disturbing. Might have to bite the bullet and vote Biden.

But the establishment should be very worried. There are many progressives who are completely put off by the way the DNC handled Bernies campaign and WILL NOT vote for Biden. There are already calls for going 3rd party. Biden really needs to make some concessions to the progressive wing of the party.

biden's not gonna go far left, it's not who he is or what he's running on. so you can choose between just inside left biden, or far right trump :yeshrug:

i voted for gary johnson in 2016, and it didnt do anything for me. it didnt get bernie elected. it didnt "show" the DNC. it got trump elected. ill be voting for the lesser of two evils this time

I’m sure being condescending to them will work. Most of those policies are already extremely moderate and probably will get watered down even more in Congress. Plus it is about them feeling like Biden understand the problems and is willing to fight. Some of you want to overlook Biden record. He voted the wrong way on some major legislation. Trust is lacking.

Yang and Van Jones made some good points in this video. Especially Van Jones.

I don’t think there is anything we can do to make them like Biden. My strategy has been to focus on Trump and the courts. Partly because that is the deciding factor on why I’m going to vote for Biden despite my personal dislike for him. I been making the point that if they actually want progressive or pro Black legislation like reparations, having a right wing extremist federal court make it unlikely any of that legislation hold up. Most people still dig in to there positions, but I have been able to get a few people to at least consider voting for Biden.
