Yup. I was 18 and it was my first time voting.

Thinking of 2008 and going to Obama rallies makes me pissed that energy wasn’t cultivated for real transformational shid.

People seem to forget to bring this up when they bring up Obama, but he started off quite progressive then grew into more of a moderate center right.

Biden has always been to the right historically, so it baffles me why if Biden announces Bernie will lose voters. I just don't see that happening. At least not from everybody's reaction right now.

Nah, Obama was always the same. We just believed differently.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. He had some progressive ideals in his younger years.

Yeah, he is just a great speaker and charismatic guy. But he never pretended to be a Progressive.

I never said he was A progressive, I meant he had progressive IDEALS in his younger years.

It’s now incredible we have actual progressives running for President right now who have a shot and can break us from the Clintonite governing. Warren in particular seeks to wield power. She’s the only one I believe in to actually change something structurally.

Reading this from Chris Hedges who wrote in 2008 is :francis:

I hear that but I'm worried about her ability to get elected. Policy is her strong suit but running a campaign seems to be a bit of a challenge.

I agree with you.

I love Bernie but I feel he’s getting left behind on policy and his absurd position on the filibuster is BS. Political revolution without structurally changing a terrible rule that was used to keep racist policies in place gotta be changed. I think Harry Reid would be down to do it if he became leader again but Chuck Schumer is :snoop:

But's that's it, Bernie is the wave my G. When election season heats up watch he will get the majority of the energy. He can get elected, and what he lacks in policy he totally has in conviction. It's his time. :wow:
Yeah and I'm from NY. Fukk Chuck Schumer. lol

Electoral college and filibuster are attempts at keeping the republic from being a democracy (using the dictionary version of those terms). They are antiquated, outdated, and have been used as racist modes of doing so. But if you're gonna get rid of them, then you have to have a replacement. Repeal and repeal isn't gonna work. It has to be repeal and replace. My vote for replace is for ranked-choice voting and multiparty Congress.

Hillary PAC Spends $1 Million to ‘Correct’ Commenters on Reddit and Facebook

I don't remember hearing about this at the time, but it was brought up by the TYT guys today. :dwillhuh:

"Citing “lessons learned from online engagement with ‘Bernie Bros,’” a pro-Hillary Clinton Super PAC is pledging to spend $1 million to “push back against” users on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram.

Correct the Record’s “Barrier Breakers” project boasts in a press release that it has already “addressed more than 5,000 people that have personally attacked Hillary Clinton on Twitter.” The PAC released this on Thursday.

The PAC was created in May of last year when it was spun off from the American Bridge SuperPAC, which is run by longtime Hillary and Bill Clinton supporter David Brock. Brock also founded the left-wing media watchdog website Media Matters for America.

Some Bernie Sanders-supporting users on Reddit already started to notice the changes on Thursday afternoon.

“This explains why my inbox turned to cancer on Tuesday,” wrote user OKarizee. “Been a member of reddit for almost 4 years and never experienced anything like it. In fact, in all my years on the internet I’ve never experienced anything like it.”"

:why:

Posting here because there is the possibility that this same infrastructure gets remobilized this time.

I feel like Beto is doing what Obama did. He's selling a fairly centrist policy prescription but dressing it up with progressive rhetoric. That's how I feel Obama got us. It's also why I'm hyper locked in on both the semantics these cats use and why I focus on policy models like a psychopath.

Yeah, but at least Obama was successful at being a senator first. :ld:
Even White progressives are seeing through the "Obama Factor" from Beto and they aren't feeling it too much. Obama was an anomaly. I don't think it can be repeated anytime soon.
