I'd like to hear some specific legislation. These politicians will say they will do something, but not specify it. Even when black people ask politicians for something, folks aren't coming up with specific policies. I feel like nobody has laid out a specific plan.

Improve school systems
Extra curricular activities and youth centers with tutoring, mentorship, and supervised activites to keep these kids busy and off the street
More black police officers in predominantly black areas
More black state troopers
More business grants and tax breaks for black businesses, mand financial counseling
Mental healthcare
Perhaps 5 years of our choice of little or no income tax
$10,00 deduction from our student loans
10K:gucci:

He better be running on forgiving all of it:hhh:... That's my one selfish issue this election. I'd be worth about $180K if it weren't for these fukking loans.:beli:

I'd have a house by now, my student loans single handedly pushed that back 5+ years unless I start making substantially more. I'm going to consolidate soon but fukk.

Reparations needs to be a stealth operation. If the Dem nominee runs on explicit reparations, they will lose. :manny:
He will lose in the democratic primary unless he has a better answers. He gave very little specifics on Black issues. He said he going to end institutionalized racism. How do you plan to do that? Even his support for 10-20-30 plan was not a good answer. The 10-20-30 proposal states that the federal government will invest in high needs communities. He could of gave specifics on how he would make sure that Black communities get funding in that plan, considering we have been left out or underrepresented in other federal programs like the New Deal. He could of gave specifics on exactly what the investments in this plan will be. Instead he just said 10-20-30 like people new what he was talking about. The majority of people never heard of the bill and won’t take time out to look at the details.

He is going to get beat down in those southern states again unless he gets it together. It might play well in Iowa, and New Hampshire, but he needs to look at the bigger picture. He doesn’t have to say every Black person will get $25,000, but he have to get more specific on what bills he want to pass when it comes to Black issues. He has specifics on Medicare for All, so I need specific details on Black issues.

Would not be good strategy to get too specific on things other than what he's always talked about. He just raised $10M in a week and is polling as the frontrunner.

His net favorability among black voters is the best among those running.

Like he said, I expect his "specifics" for black folks will be explaining how his policies will close gaps. Ex: Medicare-for-all will close the infant mortality disparity

He has high favorabilties partly because he has high name recognition along with Biden. It remains to be seen if that translate into Black votes. I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I know very few Black people that are excited about Bernie in real life. Most Black people I know don’t dislike him, but are lukewarm about supporting him. Your example of Medicare for all helping to close the infant mortality rate gap, was a better example than anything he said during the town hall.

Some of y'all forgetting most voters don't actually care about specifics... it's more about messaging/a vision... not saying that's good but it's reality:hubie:
It is also reality that people look at how comfortable candidates look when talking about issues. Bernie looks hella uncomfortable when he talking about Black issues. You are right to a certain extent that people don’t look at specifics. People are not going to research policy, but they do want to hear specifics proposals about the issues they care about. Ex. People want to hear that you are for free college, but they are not going to look into exactly how to get it done. But college students know that this is a specific policy for them.

I think he maybe looked a lil uncomfortable with the reparations question, but that's all.

As for black votes, remember he won black millenials by a wide margin in 2016. It's been older black folks that he's gain more favorability with, in the last 3 years.
