Bernie was doing good until the reparations question. He is not going to when until he fix his answer on this. I want to support him because of his college, and healthcare plans, but his answers on Black issues are not good enough.
He's also looking old and low on energy. I still support him more than the other democrats.

Reparations needs to be a stealth operation. If the Dem nominee runs on explicit reparations, they will lose. :manny:

....and Bernie knows that. He's trying to get the fed up angry White folks and Black voters united and touch on classism. In my opinion, reparations will happen, but not anytime soon. However, people like Marianne Williamson are needed.

Bernie not looking good with this.

He said let's end institutional racism. He directly addressed black economic issues specifically. He said "we are going to do everything we can" for people hurt by the legacy of slavery. He told the truth about Castro and Warren being unclear in their statements about reparations.

If he straight up said "Yes, I will take money from everybody else and give it to black Americans" he would lose. You know that.

That wasn't even a bad answer though.

Exactly, Warren said the same mumbo jumbo as Bernie and Castro said, "Yeah, I'll do that." with 0 specifics according to Wolf.
I wonder if anyone asked Warren or Castro, "How will you pay for that?" tho? :troll:

Bernie’s answer before reparations Q answered the reparations Q.

It’s no big deal. But the mainstream media will highlight that.
They will highlight it because they want to derail his campaign. Because he is a threat to them. What they want to do is keep up the status quo and keep the population divided.

I'd like to hear some specific legislation. These politicians will say they will do something, but not specify it. Even when black people ask politicians for something, folks aren't coming up with specific policies. I feel like nobody has laid out a specific plan.

Improve school systems
Extra curricular activities and youth centers with tutoring, mentorship, and supervised activites to keep these kids busy and off the street
More black police officers in predominantly black areas
More black state troopers
More business grants and tax breaks for black businesses, mand financial counseling
Mental healthcare
Perhaps 5 years of our choice of little or no income tax
$10,00 deduction from our student loans

It was a bad answer because he looked uncomfortable, defensive and shaky when pressed, and ended up taking a follower approach ("Yeah, what Elizabeth said!") on a moral issue while lowkey throwing his fellow Dems under the bus. He was put in a tough spot, and Liz and Julian would probably end up looking similarly uncomfortable if made to answer the question in this format, but it was Bernie's time in the spotlight. :manny:
