Glover is a smart dude securing a season four and even filming it before releasing season 3 and then changing the format of season 3 to be more experimental.
yeah i agree...

this thread will accuse of being too "high minded" or trying to be "elitist"

but

show always had to end and they was always going to europe too..

problem is they ALL blew up even before season 2 dropped. so it was always gonna be hard to get em all together for show time. what they've done is really let his brother write and hiro go

i already posted my grievances but this is easily the best show on TV

yeah that’s what a lot of people are missing they are all busy as fukk. Filming them together was probably a nightmare scheduling wise so it’s easier to do these solo stories. For example I don’t think all four of them have been together this whole season.

it is truly wild... i can't think of a show where a side character like darius became one of the most famous actors in the world in the middle of a TV show...

anyway yeah... next episode is gonna have everyone coming back together, next season is gonna be something else.

:wow:

I have no problem with this season but it doesn’t feel like Atlanta, it feels like a whole different show with Atlanta’s cast. I can see people not caring for it.

Prolly because..... stay with me now.... because maybe this Season they not in Atlanta :jbhmm:

Liam line about white people never really having to learn a lesson if they don’t want to, seemed to be the main point.

I was mostly just shocked that the they actually got him to play himself and specifically talk about the incident in such detail. Most shows would tip toe around it or never even mention it. Which i don’t think is completely letting him off the hook but I get why it would rub people the wrong way.
Great point. I don’t think he got a pass. I think it was a commentary on cancel culture in general. Neesom says the incident didn’t mess up his career or life at all. He provided his context.
Pacing of the episode was excellent and again they get the music right every fukking time….ending with The Meters stormy

Loraine represented the devil.

Everybody knows that satan is a tranny

I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING. I think this episode and the WOODS episode are linked in that both speaks on the transformation of Paperboi. With the WOODS, Paperboi was apprehensive in accepting himself as a rap star and it went through those woods and a transformation occurred where he was ready to accept and embrace the rap moniker. Wiley posed as an angel guiding him through the wilderness.

Prior to this episode, during this season, it was hinted at Paperboi not loving his rap career despite the success he been getting from it. He's been uninspired to write, the rap groupies fighting, he and Earn are more rapper & manager than cousin to cousin in these days and when Paperboi tried to get a simple CASUAL conversation with Earn, Earn is too manager focused to really engage. There were signs that Paperboi is being depressed. Like the end of the CANCER ATTACK episode after accepting his phone was forever lost (we know Socks stole it and tossed it), the last scene of that episode panned on Paperboi and him appearing depressed. So, whenever someone is in space where they're down and in doubt, THAT'S WHERE THE DEVIL enters and conflate everything. Loraine is definitely the DEVIL, first using that NAME in particular which was his mother's name that subconsciously gravitated towards. The devil's tactic ALWAYS is to BEFRIEND the vulnerable person, and that's what happened here. Claiming Paperboi needed to be "saved". Throwing doubt about EVERYTHING. Leading him into places like the Cancel Club, making him wear the GOOFY HAT which he's no different from those other GOOFY'S, engaging into Alfred's biggest FEARS.

Alfred is going to quit the rap game. I can see where this is going.

He might not have had his masters had he peaced Earn out in Season 1.

When Lorraine said "I'm all you got," that's been Earn's role since he took on the role of Paperboi/s manager. He's the only one who has as much to lose in this entire endeavor as Paperboi does.

Alfred keeping Earn on as his manager was his BEST decision, because at that point, Alfred KNEW that out of everyone, Earn has Alfred's best interest at heart, even when Earn messes thing up. And Earn in this season MORE THAN proven and gone out his way of ensuring Alfred is taken care of while at the same time not impeding what Paperboi want or doesn't want to do. Like in this epsiode, it wasn't Darius that found him despite they were supposed to be together, it was Earn who found him passed out on the street, which means Earn had to be LOOKING for him because he knew something was wrong. It was Earn who had change his cloths and put him in the bed. It was Earn who didn't even judge him or bothered to inquire what really happened. All Earn cares is that Alfred is okay. So, of course Earn renegotiated Alfred's contract to where Alfred owns his masters. And that's in large part they both been into this journey together since DAY ONE. This was the only thing Earn had as a purpose in life that was working for him. He damn sure isn't going to mess that up, and the fear of getting fired the FIRST TIME was his reality check. So, Earn got as much to lose as Alfred in this.
