That Liam Neeson shyt really pissed me off. Black people always have to publicly "forgive" White suspected racists. Liam Neeson said he went out looking for any Black person to kill after his friend had allegedly been raped by a Black man. And here we have Donald Glover giving him his platform and a storyline where Neeson gloats in our faces that: a) he's not sorry for what he said and b) we failed to "cancel" him or hurt his career in any way. That's foul...motherfukk Liam Neeson and anyone who supports him :pacspit:

Great episode, the episodes focused on the Atlanta cast be so much better I let out a sigh of relief when the episode starts and it's apparent it's a normal episode :blessed:

the Lorraine character was multifaceted as hell. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be "keeping it real" with PaperBoi or if it was just plain toxic. It tried to make Paperboi question the intentions of Earn then the fact that was layered onto Paperboi's mother via name was that a suggestion that Paperboi people outside this core group was in his ear hating at some point :jbhmm:

This is misleading. Viewing patterns have changed dramatically from 2018/2019 to 2022.

Most linear/live cable ratings are down or stagnant because of the shift to streaming. Look up the live linear ratings for Barry this season.

What matters is the total viewing across all platforms. Euphoria is a good example. Linear Sunday viewing for S2 (2022) was near identical to S1 (2019) but overall viewing was up around 300% across all platforms.

Anecdotally, there does seem to be less buzz for Atlanta this season so I’m sure there’s some merit to it, but this is a meaningless metric.

I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING. I think this episode and the WOODS episode are linked in that both speaks on the transformation of Paperboi. With the WOODS, Paperboi was apprehensive in accepting himself as a rap star and it went through those woods and a transformation occurred where he was ready to accept and embrace the rap moniker. Wiley posed as an angel guiding him through the wilderness.

Prior to this episode, during this season, it was hinted at Paperboi not loving his rap career despite the success he been getting from it. He's been uninspired to write, the rap groupies fighting, he and Earn are more rapper & manager than cousin to cousin in these days and when Paperboi tried to get a simple CASUAL conversation with Earn, Earn is too manager focused to really engage. There were signs that Paperboi is being depressed. Like the end of the CANCER ATTACK episode after accepting his phone was forever lost (we know Socks stole it and tossed it), the last scene of that episode panned on Paperboi and him appearing depressed. So, whenever someone is in space where they're down and in doubt, THAT'S WHERE THE DEVIL enters and conflate everything. Loraine is definitely the DEVIL, first using that NAME in particular which was his mother's name that subconsciously gravitated towards. The devil's tactic ALWAYS is to BEFRIEND the vulnerable person, and that's what happened here. Claiming Paperboi needed to be "saved". Throwing doubt about EVERYTHING. Leading him into places like the Cancel Club, making him wear the GOOFY HAT which he's no different from those other GOOFY'S, engaging into Alfred's biggest FEARS.

Alfred is going to quit the rap game. I can see where this is going.

This was a BRILLIANT and EXCELLENTLY written analysis

Earn and Al are related through Earns pops, who I believe is Willies brother.

1st episode when Al and Darius pull up on Earns parents, Earns mom is giving paper boi shyt about smelling like weed and Al says to Earns dad.
"you got a weird ass wife unc"
The alligator man episode plot is Yvonne, Willy's long time hoe/girlfriend calling Al to come talk sense into Willy cause he wildin,

Why call Al, his nephew?
Why does Al own the house his uncle stays in?
Because Willy ain't his Uncle, he's his estranged father.

Kat says..."this my house!(it's not, it's his son's) I'm supposed to asking you why you here?"
Earn says..."Al sent me"

"What he too good to come see me now on his own, he DMX now?"
That's a father wondering why his son didn't come handle this and sent Earn instead

Yvonne called his son to come deal with his crazy ass pops.

Al's pops and Earns pops are brothers.

Gotta say on 1st intro Lorraine was nice looking very unique. Then you quickly see why Lorraine is so unique looking. These surgeries are demonic brehs.

Lorraine was a manifestation of Al’s insecurities and worries. From looking silly in the hat which makes him stand out as he’s trying to be low key, Darius taking advantage of him and who owns his masters.

I love the freedom this show gives the characters. This is story telling right here, life isn’t linear.
