A lot of us Jamaicans in the states went to college on the backs of women who did this work - nothing to be ashamed about.
Not saying it is. What I'm inferring from my comment is they shouldn't HAVE to do it. They went thru the worse of the worse during their struggle to still be stuck in the same exact financial position. They didn't get to reap the rewards of their fight. And maybe that's their choice to continue doing that type of labor but me personally, I don't think they should have to

Completely agree. They shouldn’t have to but that’s the way it was. Nobody chooses to do that work but there were could be benefits, hand me down clothes, left over food…times were hard back then. I worked my ass off in school and fortunately can help my people out in their later life. That ultimately was what the sacrifice and subjugation of pride was for.

i have a feeling the tone for season 4 will be SUPER dark and the story arc for the main characters won’t end well

at the end of the day those who came before us did things we would never do in order for us to have the opportunity to not have to do that stuff. This is why we cant squander our opportunities.

on the contrary based upon Donald glover's comments I believe that season 4 will actually be lighter than many are expecting.

Now i'm not saying expect anything soft and cuddly but a return to the tone of something reminiscent of season 1 is plausible.

Love this season. Love these off canon episodes.

As a Trinidadian, this episode hit on so many levels and I appreciate Glover for the variety of black experiences he's putting out there.

Just fukking dope.

I figured that was a pic before he opened it. The second time it was delivered, it looked like a picture frame was in the envelope....

The title & song brought back memories of a Trini classmate that used to always sing that song. That and telling me she was 'just liming'

And yeah, if you even been near Midtown East in Manhattan, you see a lot of African & sometimes non English speaking Russian women as nannies for the kids of UN workers
