What's replacing the home button?

basically the latest rumors are that actions from the home button are gonna be replaced by gestures, the multitasking windows will look different as well. There'll be a dock like the new Ipad pros have too.

might as well get the 8 breh. them gestures, the facial recognition, oled screen, you'll look at the older iphones like :patrice:

that line at the bottom and the gesture is similar to webOs on the old Palm Pre, which people lauded the os (the phone sucked though). swipe up halfway, get the control center & multitasking windows, swipe up all the way and close the app/go back to home screen.

Pay over a G for a phone brehs :dwillhuh: :dahell: :snoop:

I never understood that. They are buying the same phone they already have with probably some basic software update.

Me: "So what is new about the Iphone 8/9/10?" :jbhmm:

Response: "It's about 2μm thinner" :jawalrus:

Me: "A g for 2μm???"

Response: "Yeah"

:what:

Falling for basic marketing ploys like sheep.:francis:

I could utilize 1g to buy some stocks with a company (<$10 listed price) that has good fundamentals (and is centered on future growth) and watch my money grow. Sheep stay losing. :wow:

:yeshrug: Never really got the argument of "why people spend so much on a phone"

People spend money all the time on bullshyt, so paying $1000 for something you use pretty much everyday doesn't sound bad to me.

Plus most of the flagship smartphones aren't that far off from being $1000 themselves.

Alos don't get the argument of "they hardly change anything every year".

I guess we'll see how advanced the facial recognition thing is because supposedly it's two years ahead of the competition, but at the end of the day there is only so much you can do with a rectangular piece of glass.

Outside of battery and camera improvements, who knows when the next big cell phone update will happen.

Be a broke Android loser brehs
It's not even about that. Apple needs to show me what this phone can functionally do that my iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8 and soon to be Note8 can't do.

I'm not gonna pay $1000+ just because they have a OLED screen with small bezels on a phone that pretty much does what all my devices now can do.

If this phone is basically a repackaged version of what I already have I see no reason to give them the $1000+ for it. Honestly I'm only getting a Note8 because I can trade in an old phone I didn't even really want and get it for about half off.

Why spend so much as an argument exist because there are upstart phone companies making $400 phones that match the feature set of these $800-$1000 phones.

As for the facial recognition tech how long will it be before that's adopted into all the applications on the phones? It'll probably start out like Touch ID and 3D Touch and you'll be into the second generation of products with the tech because it's common in all apps.
