Out of the two Daniel would be the supporting actor IMOYou 2 have differing opinions on who the lead is. Daniel seems to be the lead to me.

Agreeasterisk ass year. why even bother when all you can nominate are boring ass streaming service crap. no one cares and this doesn't matter, give Sonic a bone for the slightest injection of fun. Netflix gonna use this fake Oscar year to raise their price again and pump out more diarrhea streams that people overrate to high heaven.
I thought it was a really good movie but it really depends on you as a movie watcher.Does Nomadland live up to the hype?

It's glacier slow and basically just 2 hours of beautiful scenery and really unattractive white people doing some fine low key acting.
robbedSo much for Sonic the Hedgehog being nominated for Best Picture.
you mean clearly deserves supporting or clearly deserves an oscar?Nominating both Lakeith and Daniel for Best Supporting is stupid as fukk. Lakeith is CLEARLY the lead in that film.
Congratulations to both of them. They killes their roles and the movie was excellent but having both of them in the same category could lead to vote splitting and Daniel CLEARLY deserves it
Clearly deserves Best Supporting Actoryou mean clearly deserves supporting or clearly deserves an oscar?
because i said it in the thread, but lakeith gave the superior performance for me
does the lead have to have a come to jesus character arc?I say Daniel has the arc not Lakeith. He starts and ends in the same place. The person with the arc is the lead. Daniel’s character goes through a full arc in terms of change. Bill doesn’t change much. They both go through stuff but bill is the same at the beginning as he is in the end.
lol basically said what i said right afterI would disagree. William O'Neal's story was the plot of the movie and what happened to Fred was a part of O'Neal's arc.
Just because O'Neal started out as a piece of shyt and ended as a piece of shyt doesn't change that the piece of shyt was the primary focus of the movie.
Fair pointdoes the lead have to have a come to jesus character arc?
sandler in un cut gems started off a gambling addict and ended one but he had the journey and obviously was the main character. just because lakeith stayed a patsy for the fbi doesnt mean he wasnt the lead or didnt have an arc (there were points in the movie where they were trying to make us empathize with his character and certain shots where they made it look like he regretted the outcomes of his decisions)

Yeah, that's just what I said, @MartyMcFly fool.Fair point
I like him moreYeah, that's just what I said, @MartyMcFly fool.
Clearly deserves Best Supporting Actor
Lakeith was the lead, he should be competing in the Lead Actor category.
Daniel gave a better performance in my opinion, but not by much. Both of them acted their asses off.
I have a feeling that if Chadwick was alive Lakeith would be in Best Actor. It just feels somewhat like a formal gesture (like how the last stage of the Tour de France is just a glorified parade, no one is suppose to overtake the other) to have Chadwick win it, while giving Lakeith a chance to win an award.
If you don't mind slow movies about cacs living in their vans then sure.Does Nomadland live up to the hype?
