Even if Steven Yeun doesn't win it, that dude took his bank from the Walking Dead, and carved out himself so much stuff; Indy films (Burning, Sorry To Bother You), various cartoons (like VOLTRON). Normally most actors just find their next television role, but not as a big time event like the Walking Dead in it's prime.

Steven instead found himself becoming bigger than Walking Dead, that shows how gifted he is.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Yeah, it's not a day that passes still that I don't lament the loss of him. And I'm very, very rarely affected by celebrity passing, but with him, it just feels more personal, despite not knowing him. I held him in high regards, as both an actor and just a person in general and like I'm sure most feels, that he was going to be the next big star on the level of Denzel. This one hurts yo.
I'm sure when I get around to watching Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey it'll be a rough watch just knowing what he was going through. It was hard for me to watch Marshall and his Marvel films again last year after he passed because I was re-watching those films knowing he was battling cancer and going through multiple radiation treatments and surgeries around that time and still putting that work and grind in and giving us, the audience, excellent performances. It's amazing and exhausting to think about. Whenever he's brought up in conversations, I always tell people to go watch 42 if they haven't seen it. I love the hell out of that movie.

In a year where everything was on my mind, but movies, I have a lot of catching up to do. Out of all those nominees, I've only seen Judas and the Black Messiah, Soul, and Onward. I guess I should give Mank a look since it's on Netflix and Citizen Kane is one of my all time favorites.
I definitely felt that post. I’ve only seen Da 5 Bloods and even then that’s been comparatively robbed to the other movies nominated, so I’m even further behind. In the last few years keeping up with cinema and seeing as many acclaimed films released each year was a joy I did my best to keep up with, but ever since this pandemic kicked off I just kind’ve been ambivalent to watching as much as I used to :francis:

Dude moved correctly after getting his name up. Didn't bank on becoming the placeholder Asian guy in a studio film but used his acquired fame to get the parts he cared about.

Lakeith and the other breh gonna cancel each other out. And Sasha Baren Cohen gonna win because :mjpls:

Chadwick definitely winning.

I am glad My Octopus Friend got a nomination, check that out if you have not seen it, it is a gem.

Suprised at Lakeith not being lead but otherwise good choices. I have a feeling chadwick might win. Mank might take home best pic, fincher stimulus.

I have a feeling that if Chadwick was alive Lakeith would be in Best Actor. It just feels somewhat like a formal gesture (like how the last stage of the Tour de France is just a glorified parade, no one is suppose to overtake the other) to have Chadwick win it, while giving Lakeith a chance to win an award.

Fincher is my fav director but Mank is a 5/10 film

What were the 3-5 best movies of 2020? Oscars or not
This was my top 10 back in January. If anything has changed it would only affect the last three spots I think. I definitely feel my 9 and 10 spots are a complete toss-up with about ten other films.

I'll guess I'll drop my top 10 so far. :patrice:
