If you don't mind slow movies about cacs living in their vans then sure.
I don’t mind movies with a slow place as long as they’re great movies. Blade Runner 2049 and 2001 A Space Odyssey come to mind.
Hell by 2021 standards The Godfather has a slow pace.

in the most miserable year in modern history, i can't fathom sitting down and dedicating time to an endless amount of streaming service quality prestige dramas. I will watch Judas, Sound of Metal and One Night in Miami one day, but can't even try to get in the midset to watch some depressing shyt about an asian family starting a farm in the racist south, or some middle aged woman living in her van. Trial of the Chicago 7 isn't good either. i'd actually argue it was "bad." Sasha's accent was terrible and inconsistent. I thought he was brutal in that movie. Everyone else was mostly forgettable, but he stuck out as bad and i love the guy.
Trial of Chicago 7 would’ve been a stronger movie if it had a better director

Does Nomadland live up to the hype?
Hype is a hilariously wrong term to use on a film like this. It is good but not in a conventional way. Like @Jello Biafra said, it more or less tracks people without a permanent home who live in vans and mobile homes and go from seasonal job to seasonal job. The sense of community they have amongst one another, the lifestyle and its own set of lifestyle problems. It doesn't judge, it doesn't pretend it's awesome, it doesn't make a point, it just presents a subculture that reflects a part of American society and history.

Well I meant the awards hype
Does it scream best picture winner?
After watching The Departed or The Return of the King I had that feeling

Probably not. Although I think it's the clear favorite and personally I liked it a lot I feel this will be considered the most uneventful winner since The Hurt Locker.
