Because all that ad and rich Paul bullshyt mid season basically gave the pelicans one of the most toxic locker room situations in nba history

The pelicans will not turn around and reward the lakers for that

Assuming this is rigged I dont think the Pels have a choice. The NBA did their part getting them Zion. Pels gotta fulfill their end of the bargain.

Also, alot can be forgiven with the acquisition of Zion. This isn't just any draft pick, this is the most exciting draft pick since Lebron James. The Pels will sell out half their home games off the strength of that alone.

I didn't think the Lakers would ever get a deal done with all the bad blood at the trade deadline, but it's looking like the pieces are falling in place for them now. Especially after getting the #4 pick.

The Pelicans have new management. Pelicans ownership bent over backwards to get David Griffin and give him what he wants. Griffin has a good working relationship with Rich Paul from the Cavs days.

With Zion going to the Pelicans, it's much easier for their organization to move on and leave the past drama in the past.

Pels are a bottom rung franchise. Terrible attendance and a shyt tv contract. They cannot survive without a name that rings bells. Ja Morant doesn't move the needle. And the NBA owes the Bensons for buying that franchise from them.

Im sure your next question "Wouldn't the NBA want zion in NY?" They did. That was the original plan. But they didn't expect Klutch/Lakers to fumble the Davis trade or the Bensons to completely refuse to help the Lakers (Personal theory is that the Bensons were still mad about the Super Bowl and helping another LA team for "the sake of the League" was a sensitive spot for them).
Boy yall NBA stans sum else i swear

Watch too many First Take n Undisputed eps and now yall swear yall know it all

Plus DG said he wants to keep AD in NO
Pelicans' David Griffin Has 'Very Good Optimism' About Anthony Davis Situation

Get off them mids

Y'all are forgetting:

Silver works for the owners.

The Pels are a money pit that the Bensons bought as a favor to the NBA, more than anything.

The Pels were pissed because they're already a struggling team and Klutch manipulating things behind the scenes was salt in the wound. As long as they had no leverage, they weren't going to help "the rich get richer" and trade AD to the Lakers/Lebron.

The NBA NEEDS the Lakers to succeed next year. Lebron is their money maker. Lakers have no resources to compete ATM. Davis gets them in title consideration. And Davis no longer wants the burden of leadership on a shytty franchise.

So...they rigged it. NOLA gets Zion which keeps that team afloat while Davis leaves. Everybody wins. Lebron gets a running mate. NBA gets a relevant Lakers team led by Lebron. NOLA gets their next great star and a young cast to build around.
The league is moving on from LeBron slowly but gradually. Yeah some casuals dropped off but all the latest playoff magic occurring plus the headlines and drama still intact still has the league trending and looking towards the future past LeBron.

Has Ingram been medically cleared? Has Lonzo said he'll play in NO cold weather?

Breh you can damn near get by without having a coat in NO. Its not warm like Miami or LA but its not really cold....And at this point Lonzo will go where hes moved to it honesrly may be best for him to be traded outside of his home base.

I'm still :mindblown: at the outcome. 3 teams with that low of odds getting top picks. the odds of that are astronomical.
Not with the stupid new math. Now it works out that those teams have a good chance of jumping up and the worst teams have the greatest odds of falling down the lottery.

This is supposed to discourage tanking I guess. Only problem is teams that are the bottom because they are genuinely bad and need the help get screwed.
