NO bout to have two of the top 4 picks

I think AD goes to the Lakers or Knicks for sure now. Ainge isn't going to give up the farm with Kyrie's questionable status.

The Lakers young core and the #4 pick should be enough for AD. The Knicks young core isn't as good as the Lakers but the #3 pick can turn the tides depending on who the Pelicans value in the draft.

Y'all are forgetting:

Silver works for the owners.

The Pels are a money pit that the Bensons bought as a favor to the NBA, more than anything.

The Pels were pissed because they're already a struggling team and Klutch manipulating things behind the scenes was salt in the wound. As long as they had no leverage, they weren't going to help "the rich get richer" and trade AD to the Lakers/Lebron.

The NBA NEEDS the Lakers to succeed next year. Lebron is their money maker. Lakers have no resources to compete ATM. Davis gets them in title consideration. And Davis no longer wants the burden of leadership on a shytty franchise.

So...they rigged it. NOLA gets Zion which keeps that team afloat while Davis leaves. Everybody wins. Lebron gets a running mate. NBA gets a relevant Lakers team led by Lebron. NOLA gets their next great star and a young cast to build around.

NOLA isn’t obligated to trade AD to the Lakers
i believe they would rather send him to the East - and not have to see/deal with him but once a season

Nobody in the East has the better pieces though. I dont think Boston is getting rid of both Brown and Tatum.

Yeah I misread your point

This new system is kind of stupid imo, and not just cause Im salty about having the worst record and falling to fukking 6th. The way it works out now its more likely than not that a team that should be 8, 9, 10, 11 will jump up into the top 4 and displace at least 1 bottom feeding team. In this case all 4.

It goes too far. So yeah you're absolutely correct, lottery picks themselves, even later ones just became a lot more valueable to the point we probably will see them traded much less frequently, leading to less big trades overall. Which is ultimately not good for NBA business.
yep, we're on the same page. i wonder how long this system is maintained tbh

Why wouldn't they?

When you distill their chief complaint it was anger at the NBA wanting them to fukk up the Pels to help the Lakers. Pels need all the star power they can get, without spending a shytton of cap.

Zion fixes that problem. And a trade with LA gets Zion a young core to grow with.

Because all that ad and rich Paul bullshyt mid season basically gave the pelicans one of the most toxic locker room situations in nba history

The pelicans will not turn around and reward the lakers for that

Has Ingram been medically cleared? Has Lonzo said he'll play in NO cold weather?

Ingram’s trade value is shot, blood clot stuff is scary plus you gotta pay him

And lonzo is is injury prone

They don’t have as much value as laker fans keep telling us
