Tons of composers do this, Harry Potter theme has similar melodies to home alone for example, I seriously doubt he copy and pasted the exact music from dark knight

I know, I am a composer myself, I always felt David Arnold should have stayed on, John Barry gave him his blessing when he passed the torch over to Arnold.

Zimmer's minimalist style doesn't always mesh with Bond...

They could have trimmed 20 minutes off this bad boy...but on 1st viewing it's my 2nd fave behind Casino Royal. Best action wise

It wasn't meant to be funny, but I was rolling at
how fast the villain dropped into the floor after Bond dropped, begged and then shot the goons. It was straight out of a video game:russ:

David Arnold is the second coming of Barry. I know Thomas newman was Mendes’ call but EON really should’ve asked Arnold back to do this flick. Not mad at what Zimmer did but nothing really stands out. In fact, the best pieces for me are the ones where he takes john Barry cues from OHMSS

Arnold was so smooth with it, while some of the Brosnan Bonds were average, the scores were perfect for the Bond world. I really like the subtle nod to OHMSS as well.

But Zimmer just took the ostianto from the end of TDK and changed a few semitones to give the final act a big push.

Yeah. Funny enough tho I think he played it safe. Arnold’s TND and Casino Royale scores show how to revere Barry but not copy him. He took chances but they felt within the vein of the franchise.

Hans just played it safe and didn’t really create anything of his own. Not even saying I don’t like his score. It’s just not exciting or memorable. Although his rendition of the OHMSS score is haunting

fukking terrible

James bond dies holding a teddy bear????!!!!!

Too many got damn characters in here for no reason. The cac agent fed, cuban chick, blomfeld were not needed

That crammed in so many new characters this was more an ensemble cast than a solo James bond movie

The plot made no sense because the villain main motive was revenge for his family..which he accomplished but then wants to destroy the world :mindblown:

Done with Hollywood and woke culture, they got James bond with a whole wife and kid crying and emotional and killed him. And now replacing him with a female

:pacspit:

Say what you will but that ending was powerful. My heart sank when he started heading toward that ladder, as it became more and more evident that's what was going to happen. Still didn't want to believe while he was on that roof just waiting, then it happened right there in plain sight and I'm like :mindblown:

Thought the first half was stronger than the second half but it was good overall. Ana De Armas needed a bit more screen time, they shoulda let Bond tap one last Bond girl for old time's sake. :mjgrin:Overall it was better than Spectre and Quantum but not Skyfall and Casino Royale.

Also this is the first time I've been in a movie theater in close to two years, felt good. :wow:
