Everything will be rebooted. this version of James Bond wasn't a codename. he had a whole arc with casino Royale and the other films. 007 is the codename but James Bond isn't. they're going to recast James Bond and everyone I bet since everyone is confused.

I know Craig's Bond was really named James Bond but it seems like instead of rebooting the whole franchise this is the perfect starting point that any future 007's should use codename James Bond as a honor for the best spy in MI6. The Craig era was great and it makes no sense to reboot this again instead of continuing the current version of the universe.

It's a reason the MI6 agents didn't use code names. It makes it less likely that they get caught up in a lie.

James Bond was so famous among the villains in the movies it would be useless to use a fake name anyways.

I loved the way the weaved in and out the old songs during the movie
I haven't read the books but why is 007 always going to Cuba
I forgot this is also Knives out 1.5 with Craig and Anna in this, their chemistry was great

so with this ending is this the birth of 007 = JAMES BOND making anyone who becomes 007 also using James Bond as their code name?
Seems like it since they were dropping hints through the move about the 007 not being retired.
I hope they don't reboot the entire franchise because the supporting characters are all so good (M, Q, Moneypenny, etc) and I wouldn't want those characters to forget Craig's James Bond when they introduce a new one.
Craig's picture should be on the wall right beside Judy Dench's M.

This was pretty good and well worth the wait. Cinematography was stylish and Han’s score fukking slapped. We need that sticky.

Some folks are gonna be disappointed with it, and that’s cool, but I’m just glad we got closure on Craig’s Bond. I had to brace my emotional self that yes, this is the end of his character and an era, during those somber opening credits. Loved seeing Bond finally taking on the bigger-than-life, action packed mission during his swan song. And despite its sadness, I liked how the film still paid respects to Bond’s usual charms, quirks, and had a fair share of funny moments to make the journey not feel overly dark.

Dealing with his death during the onset of a pandemic would’ve been depressing as hell. Glad this didn’t get that exclusive VOD treatment during the infamous 2020. Craig has been a class act and deserves to go out on better terms than that. The coolest and best Bond to date IMO.

I thought Cary killed it. Not surprised at all given his track record, but the film brought much needed stabilization after Spectre and still stuck the landing in the end. I’m fulfilled, and count me in as someone else who wants him onboard for future projects in the franchise.

All out there homie. The official bond podcast, few excerpts from interviews over in London. Barbara broccoli and Michael g Wilson are on record saying that. Along with Cary. And I’m talking purely about the five story arc. If it’s a self contained arc, as they’ve said, there’s no need to do anything connected to it.

And they’re not doing the other thing because it’s the code name shyt which no one associated with Bond has ever said is a thing. That’s just fan theory in search of a problem that doesn’t need a solution.

It won't be a reboot in the sense that they cover Bond's origin story, I think the Bond franchise goes back to its serialised nature with the next Bond being a fully formed character, the Craig universe will and should be left alone
