I guess napoleon is trying to say that LGBT groups have adopted a political and judicial strategy that has pushed their issues more effectively and helped get laws changed.

Obama also cited them as an effective protest example and how he was for civil unions and that LGBT groups were like fukk that we want the same status, not calling it some other thing and you're wrong. They (at least the leaders of the movement) didn't look at him as an enemy of their position because he supported a half measure. They saw him as an ally, so talking to him didn't compromise the integrity of their position.

Marriage equality as a reform is significantly different from fundamentally respecting Afrikan life which is our demand, since the entire system is predicated upon negating and denying our right to life. There's just no comparison here. All you can compare marriage equality to would be the bans on interracial marriages.

He's trying to get them to make that transition, and he's right. You can't just go around and keep yelling. Organize a political party and try to get your feet through the door so you can have some power, instead of constantly bumrushing politicians and asking them what they'll do for black lives, knowing damn well most of them don't care about our black asses.
