O.T. Genasis - CoCo [Music Video]: I think the general consensus is that Laffy Taffy was the lowest point as far as hiphop but i think this song is damn close to making a new standard. I mean it literally sounds like a skit. The factthat its a real song that gets play nationwide on mainstream radio is disturbing to how low the bar is now. You can LITERALLY talk/yell over a track and get major play as long as the beat is hot
Now on to the "black community". Our self respect is so low that an OBVIOUS ode to the distribution of cocaine is being let made cool. Where's the censorship in our community? I mean the song is so graphic in its repeated line "bakin soda!!!! I got BAKING SODA!!!" How is this even REMOTELY appropriate to be played on MAINSTREAM RADIO??? I listen to a lot of pop aka "white" stations and the vibe is totally different. Its waaaay more positive and upbeat. Only in our community is a song so inappropriate allowed to be so freely played. My question is: why do we not care about ourselves enough to police and monitor what we are feeding our minds & souls? In every "anti" hiphop thread cats chime in defense of rap by saying "the government pumped drugs into the community". So why are yall ok with music that glorifies these drugs that the government used to help destroy black communities:francis:

Don't you ever get tired of complaining about the same shyt? :mindblown: you make at least 3 threads a week complaining about hip hop :what:

You obviously don't like the music, so why keep fukkin with it? :why:

2014 was really the WOAT year for black ppl in the modern era & this played it's part in that

nikkas talkin about #blacklivesmatter in between chanting how about catchin a body bout a week agoooo and having baking soda, i got baking soda. :snoop:

I co sign the sentiments of the thread starter however nothing will ever top the wackness of laffy taffy. We can't go lower than the snap era (although many have damn sure tried).

Bro, you act like nikkaz wasn't out marching in the streets in 92 when the Rodney King verdict dropped saying "no justice, no peace" while bumpin the gatdamn Chronic album :what:

I agree, the beat bangs and its entertaining. But why do we have no standards like other groups? I dont hear songs about murder and gang affiliation nowhere else but stations geared towards blacks.

Serious question, are you white?

Im most disappointed in NYC for rocking with this wow times have changed!

I remembered NYC hating anything with 808s and bass beats and southern hooks as recent as 2007. Guess its the 90s and 00s babies coming of age and wanting to listen to that shyt.

But these songs are on some c00n shyt. No redeeming value whatsoever.

I turned on the local hip hop station a few months ago (the same one I listened to when I was a kid)…and I was low key shocked at the shyt they played.
It was back to back to back songs about shooting cats, selling drugs, etc….

I had to go ahead and turn in my young man card and switched to the station targeting older black people :francis:

What is crazy to me is that you hear the same songs over and over again, on some brainwashing shyt. From the strip club to the car to regular clubs and even in social events. Where the fukk is the diversity? :wtf:

Question: honestly, could u imagine this being played on any other station but a black station?
Dude it's on the Billboard 100, it's getting heavy mainstream play hence why it's like #10 on the chart.

Song is trash. The funny thing is that if Riff Raff or someone made that song we'd be hearing about how it's a racist caricature of black "culture." But since dude is black few people have shyt to say. It's a horrible song that glorifies crack in a way that's pretty ugly. It sounds like a parody track.

Trap Queen isn't much better.

Songs like "hot nikka" "coco" and "try me" all carry that same self imprisoning vibe.

Look at where Bobby is right now.
If O.T. Genasis (:usure: brehs can't spell their own name now) really about that life he will end up like Bobby. Same goes for Dej Loaf.

its a dirty game y'all.... and for what? who gets the $$$ in the end?

I pray for our unborn children.
