:ohhh:The argument i always raise with this is why don't TV, Movies, and Video Games depicting this lifestyle get the same level of scrutiny? Why do rappers have some obligation to guide the youth and be conscious when those other forms of entertainment don't? Rappers are just entertainers right? The trap sub genre has the right to exist in rap or hip hop as far as I'm concerned and since the genre and definitely fanbase is not monolithic you can't judge hip hop and the black community on the behavior of OT Genasis and people like him.

90s babies gonna reminisce and say they grew up on OT genesis and bobby schmurda :laff:

us 80s babies had big, pac, hov and nas :ahh:
Yeah, they gonna reminisce and say they grew up on two one-hit wonders :francis:

If we're talking this generation, they'll say they grew up on Drake, Kendrick, J. Cole, etc.

You may as well have said "us 80's babies had Ahmad and Positive K :ahh:"

@killacal im still waiting on my answer breh. :lupe: Can u imagina a song about cocaine distribution, gang affiliation or murder playing on any other mainstream radio stations besides stations aimed at black youth? I want u to keep in mind that the best way to keep a people from progressing and prospering is to infect the minds of its youth.
Spanish radio stations bump narco corridos all the time, talkin about exactly that :yeshrug:

I agree, the beat bangs and its entertaining. But why do we have no standards like other groups? I dont hear songs about murder and gang affiliation nowhere else but stations geared towards blacks.
Because hip hop is a reflection of the streets. These rappers only rap about what they see. Detailing stories about the pitfalls of the ghetto is like therapy to them...

:troll:

We have no standards really. These same radio stations that play, Headbussa, right after a sermon about peace. There are just no standards. We can ignore it and argue about it, but there are just no standards.

That video isn't really that bad...the SECOND video is so awful...so generic...just blew my mind how bad it was

I don't understand shooting a more expensive video for a song just to throw some cameos in there ... at least let someone get a verse or something :snoop:

Well, there goes his advance :francis:
