@killacal im still waiting on my answer breh. :lupe: Can u imagina a song about cocaine distribution, gang affiliation or murder playing on any other mainstream radio stations besides stations aimed at black youth? I want u to keep in mind that the best way to keep a people from progressing and prospering is to infect the minds of its youth.

i wish it were a parody video. he would probably gotten the same amount of hits if it had an overt comedic aspect.

Honorable mention for a low point in hiphop: Nicki Minaj - Anaconda:

It's way too :demonic: for radio.. I can't stand listening to it just disturbs the fukk outta me.

I turned on the local hip hop station a few months ago (the same one I listened to when I was a kid)…and I was low key shocked at the shyt they played.
It was back to back to back songs about shooting cats, selling drugs, etc….

I had to go ahead and turn in my young man card and switched to the station targeting older black people :francis:

2014 was really the WOAT year for black ppl in the modern era & this played it's part in that

nikkas talkin about #blacklivesmatter in between chanting how about catchin a body bout a week agoooo and having baking soda, i got baking soda. :snoop:

I co sign the sentiments of the thread starter however nothing will ever top the wackness of laffy taffy. We can't go lower than the snap era (although many have damn sure tried).

saying 'but the beat cranks, or it go hard in the club bro' is a cop out

nikkas know they listening to garbage but dont wanna fess up

oh well

these folks seem to think so

https://www.change.org/p/clear-chan...off-of-regular-radio-rotation-on-urban-radio?

1) Songs such as Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot nikka” and OT Genasis’ “Coco” need to be removed from rotation immediately.

2) We warn radio stations to be smart. The canned response of “if you don’t like it, don’t listen” will be met with “if you don’t respect us, get out”.

3) Your advertisers may be questioned about their association with such negative programming.

4) You may find your events unwelcome in our community.

5) Program directors, station managers, corporate owners, and even record labels must understand that they are and will be held accountable to the community they broadcast to because

6) We are not going anywhere.

“Metro Detroit has struggled with drugs and violence and the death that comes with both for years. As we enter the second half of the second decade of the 21st century, Detroit seems to be on the verge of a revival, or some might say “renaissance”. Yet for some reason, some radio stations are content to program music glorifying killing as many men and women as possible and the manufacture and sale of crack and other drugs. Using simple, easy to remember melodies and lyrics, much like nursery rhymes, the music has a special appeal to young people. In one song the artist brags of selling cocaine in 5th grade. So now we have children as young as seven years old singing about how they’re in love with cocaine.”

:mjcry:

This thread would do numbers in TLR.

So why are yall ok with music that glorifies these drugs that the government used to help destroy black communities:francis:
Because I'd look like quite the hypocrite if I grew up happily listening to music that does exactly that and am part of an internet forum that routinely labels albums full of what you're describing as classic and genre defining:manny:

So cacs can make a million dumb records about nothing, teeny bullshyt and nobody say nothing but somehow someway da coco is supposed to set the black community back a hundred years? fukk that. It's all entertainment. It don't represent anything about our community it don't represent shyt outside of this nikka really loving da coco.
