I didn't say they needed to use the amnesty on Amare then, but it woulda been nice to keep it just in case, like Chicago is with Boozer.

Remember, as good as Chandler was in Dallas, he was a year removed from getting dumped by Charlotte and being accused of merely being a product of Chris Paul, so for NY to invest so much, that could have backfired. What a stupid article. I'm getting tired of people saying the Melo/Amar'e/Chandler trio won't work. They were 8-2 under Woodson last season. I'm not thinking about how they played under D'antoni because it's becoming apparent that he's not a great coach. And the Knicks didn't have good point guard play for most of last season. Can we let the guy come back and actually play before we proclaim it's not going to work? And Amar'e coming back and getting all of Kurt Thomas' minutes and a bunch of Rasheed Wallace's minutes doesn't make us better??

The chandler amnesty argument you made was dumb . that's my point . The bulls can have the amnesty but what's the point when boozer gets to the last 2 years and they can trade him it becomes not so much of a asset . The Knicks used it got better so there is no argument to have kept it

then why wasn't the article written during the summer when the knicks were supposedly trying to give him away or in february when they were trying to trade him the andrea? what's the reason for waiting all this time?

I don't think any of us said it was definitely not true, but here are some things to consider:

a) There is literally no evidence for any of the claims made in this from what I've seen other than a bunch of unnamed sources.

b) Why would a writer wait until months later to break this story? If a team in one of the biggest media markets in the world is shopping one of its three star players it's major news, isn't it?
