This is retarded.

But whatever.
I suppose his solution is to create a society where the poor all have to buy cars...which...what's the average car payment now? $700 a month? Another $200 a month for the insurance? Not including the gas or maintenance charges required?

These smart-dumb motherfukkers are...whatever. I would bet this a$$hole is one of those libertarian idiots.

Why even waste my time...

Problem is, trains and busses are overcrowded and packed beyond capacity during rush hour traffic. That causes a lot of WorldstarHiphop moments with provoking violence and senseless conflicts.

The solution is to make more office workers WFH and have less people traveling, period.

You don't have to pay the congestion prices if you take the FDR, meaning the FDR will be backed up even more. Also more pushed into the Bronx.

So these Midtown crackers talking about the traffic disappearing is funny considering it didn't disappear, it just dispersed over to other areas. Areas filled with predominantly ethnic/poor people. But that's ok, because it's "not in my neighborhood" :mjpls:

Raising taxes because of a 33 Billion shortfall at MTA?

I don’t trust the MTA they always have three books, the one they show the politicians, the one they show the auditors, and finally the one they show the judge.

If some of this money was going to other agencies like DOE or sanitation I would respect it more because that would create dual over site over the money. I think they were talking about a fair increase too. It’s a complete robbery.

Even if this scam fixes the budget shortfall they'll never stop collecting it.

The Government has turned into a bunch of scammers. Now Chicago wants in on it.

The other side they don’t tell you about

Everyone is quite happy to highlight the struggles that MTA is seeing with the massive influx of passengers.

Yet for all this complaining, nobody seems to have another viable solution to the traffic problem in NYC.
So what is it?

People want to bytch about the traffic. How do you fix it? Well, one way is to try to dissuade drivers to enter the city. How do you do that? Raise prices.
Does that eliminate all of those commuters? No. Inevitably they will find other modes of travel, so here we are....an increase in subway ridership. Has the MTA been able to meet the demand? Maybe it's fine in some areas. It's certainly missing the mark in others.

It's going to take time to accommodate all this. And definitely other solutions will have to emerge.
But the answer damn sure wasn't the status quo.
