There were def a lot of black people there in the year 2000. Being I used to be in Canarsie a lot of as youngster and Canarsie did not get any type of recognition at all till pop smoke became a thing. I can’t recall any NY rapper showing Canarsie love and Canarsie has at least been taken over by blacks since the mid 90s

That's because there weren't that many black people raised there. A lot of Canarsie folks came from East Flatbush. Pop Smoke are the generation that were born in the early 00's, and they're starting to come of age.

Straight from Flatbush
From KRS One “South Bronx” to all the shoutouts to the Bronx, it was all about South Bronx. Why was The North Bronx left out?

Even Mt Vernon and Yonkers get more respect and they are not even part of the five boroughs. Aren’t they north of the Bronx?

Educate a brother.
North Bronx is basically Van Courtlandt park, Tracy Towers, Baychester etc.. ain’t shyt out there but old people… South Bronx was basically the birth of hip hop, all the hoods in the South Bronx..

To me the Cross Bronx is the divider of the South Bronx every below that is South Bronx.

Anywhere around Pelham Parkway is the South BX, or any place where you see less Jamaican people and more Hispanics :yeshrug: . Fordham Rd is basically South BX.

Fordham Road is the West Bronx.

Jamaicans are in the Northeast Bronx…the Northwest Bronx for example is a completely different place demographically not that many Jamaicans so what you talking about.

Pelham Parkway is nowhere near the South Bronx either shyt is East Bronx. :mjtf:

Pelham parkway is right next to Fordham Road. Its basically borders the South BX :unimpressed:

The NE BX borders Mt Vernon and New Rochelle, nearby CO OP City.

Brooklyn
But he always shouted out BK as a whole. All the Queens rappers repped their hoods, but it was always “Queens get the money”, Same thing with Staten Island and Long Island.

I was listening to KRS One yesterday and it hit me, he went out of his way to exclude North Bronx.

Well now that I think about it, Manhattan rappers only repped Harlem. No mention of other hoods outside of uptown. :mjlol:

From the outside looking in, You New Yawkers are very territorial. Y’all even claim boroughs before the city.

As a native Brooklynite, I think there's some truth to the bolded. I could be a little biased from spending time and hanging out all over the city in my 20s, but to me, a lot of New Yorkers can be pretty parochial about their borough/neighborhood.

The way some people talk, you'd think it's five separate cities that just happen to be near each other :mjlol:

Fam, Pelham Parkway = Fordham road = w 207th street. You can go from Pelham Bay Park & city island to the heights by driving straight and never turning off the road. Go peep the 12 bus route

The whole Natural Elements movement started in the Northeast Bronx, back in the late 80's.

Trackmasters, Chi-Ali and Buckwild are also from up there too. A lot of producers are from the Northeast.
Where trackmasters from ?

Yea I forgot to mention buckwild
