I don’t get why they want the AEW to fail, nikkas complained for years that they want an alternative, they got an alternative, yes they’re a young company going through growing pains but there’s still a lot to enjoy with Dynamite.

But dudes out here foaming at the mouth to pounce on AEW, Tony Khan gave Shawn Spears a stunner on an UNAIRED segment for the fans in Corpus Christi, not even a segment for Dark but dudes like “sEe aEw cAnT hElP tHeMsElVeS, mArKs iN tHe rInG, tOnY iS tRyInG tO gEt hImSeLf oVeR”.

You never see these types of posts in the watch thread when it's live it's always after the show that the weirdos come in typing up dissertations trying to convince everyone else shyt is trash. Or the doom and gloom posts if nxt wins the ratings which is hilarious when you consider that they fighting over 100k+/- of the same fans. :dead:

To put things into perspective espn and top rank were very happy with the 1.2 million they got on the other Sat boxing card when pbc on fox does over a milli they :blessed: but it's supposed doom and gloom over playfighting doing 600-800k on a wed :comeon:

people who use terms like "alternative" generally just watch the WWE, and only want another big promotion because they think that its gonna force the WWE to put out a better product.

I had this conversation with @Rayzah and I said the same thing. A lot it was just WWE fans hoping this would make WWE better as opposed to being a promotion they could migrate to. Also not all disgruntled wrestling fans want the same thing as an 'alternative' and are disgruntled for the same reason. There are the minority of traditionalist who want a match heavy show light on spots and focused on psychology and story telling, there are fans who want an edgier sports entertainment show where it's atitude era 2.0 and there are fans who wanted to be apart of a wrestling boom that ain't there. None of that is AEW's fault however them making their show on idea of everyone already knows us so we don't have to introduce ourselves and this idea that they're made men who can do jobs and make stars without damaging themselves has also been a mistake.

My feeling is that fans are not patient enough in this era to let that happen and just as AEW is an alternative to WWE, NXT can function the same if AEW ain't hitting. Especially with the way fans and AEW Elite have boosted expectations and exaggerated WWE's woes to the point where the pressure is on THEM and they put it there. Another component to them making stars is feuds and characters but their fans are content with match heavy shows with wins and losses moving the wrestlers forward I don't think that draws in potential fans and I don't believe in the phrase "To be the man, you have to beat the man" if Kenny Omega takes a loss on AEW to a wrestler who fans don't know, don't care about that's not going to turn that wrestler into a star if anything would hurt Omega and it will build contempt among fans and there's a lot of talented wrestlers who've been maligned because they were hotshotted before they got over.
When I read comments like "Competition is better for WWE" "Attitude Era was great because WWE had competition" "WWE has stepped it up because of compettion" It seems more like fans would prefer a better WWE more than a true alternative.
