For a THIRD brand it absolutely is. NXT is the WWE’s minor league (no matter how hard they try and say other wise). So Drawing 750k+ every week in the ratings is good when you consider that.

I'm not calling them "bad"

but 800 thousand viewers is hardly anything to boast over IMO

Especially when both of these shows debuted to over a million viewers. It's kinda alarming that so many people tuned out after their initial debuts, and that's whats so hilarious about this little war. nikkas be going AT IT for .6 ratings.

It’s a damn shame these shows put on interesting episodes and get under a million while Raw and SD put out shyt shows weekly and get two or so million simply cause people are so used to it being on tv. AEW and NXT should be pushing 3 mil while Raw and SD get ROH numbers

raw & smackdown being so bad, are why the other programs aren't flourishing in the ratings.

in fairness tho, NXT & AEW would each do ALOT better if they didn't go head-up.

I don't know because most of their booking so far has been all over the place. They start something & it ends in 3 weeks or it just drifts off into something different without any kind of resolution one way or the other. Their booking isn't cohesive at all & it seems like stuff is working on different timelines because the rushed into some stuff.

Cody seems like the one guy there that really looks at what he's doing & then you look at his run so far & it has the same issues.

Cody went from being in the Elite vs Inner Circle thing that seemed like it was going to be the overarching story of the whole company leading to a war games match at some point. Had his title match with Jericho where the idea seems to be that MJeff screwed him by throwing in the towel, even though he was caught in the Walls of Jericho in the middle of the ring with no signs of getting out, & then MJeff kicked him in the balls.

So he moved on to the MJeff stuff & got laid out by Wardlow so he's now out numbered for some reason. Then the Butcher, Blade, & Bunny attacked him & he's talking about all his friends being to caught up in other stuff to help him after he just left them against the Inner Circle. MJeff claimed in an unaired on TV promo that he paid for BBB to attack Cody, they cut a promo not mentioning that at all on TV saying their just tired of Cody being the face of everything. 2 matches in him & Darby already beat the BBB group, so Darby gets a rematch against Cody now.

Then to close the show Dark Order & the creepers attacked SCU & the Young Bucks so Cody ran in with Omega for the save & also got beat down. So it seems like their all on the same page again out of nowhere & the Dark Order has replaced the Inner Circle as the big threat.

So in the span of 3 months Cody went from building towards a war games match between the Elite vs Inner Circle, for some reason booked himself into the corner of never challenging for the world title again, starting an angle with MJeff where nobody from the Elite is helping him for some reason, in 3 weeks got attacked by a debuting team to beating them, having the Elite all decide to help each other again only to get beat down by a crew of jobbers, & setting up a rematch with Darby for Jan 1st.

Somewhere in the middle of all that him & Brandi split from each other on TV & now she leads a cult & he don't know shyt about it.

Holy shyt :mindblown: :dead:

The PAC-12 women’s water polo tournament was on at the same time. That’s why AEW ratings dropped. No big deal.

Quarter hour breakdown by Meltzer:

NXT opened big with 977,000 viewers in the first quarter for Adam Cole vs. Finn Balor, which was the biggest thing of the night and by a huge margin. Baszler vs. Ripley was not even close if you’re looking at what drew the audience. Adam Page & Kenny Omega vs. Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix did 689,000 viewers against it.

In the second quarter, the finish of Cole vs. Balor and post match lost 104,000 viewers while the finish of the AEW tag match and post-match brawl gained 2,000 viewers.

In the third quarter, Killian Dain vs. Damien Priest 84,000 viewers. Cody & Darby Allin vs. The Butcher & The Blade gained 11,000 viewers. It was still a 789,000 to 703,000 edge for NXT.

In the fourth quarter, Kushida vs. Cameron Grimes lost 25,000 viewers while Awesome Kong vs. Miranda Alize lost 57,000 viewers.

The only quarter AEW won was the fifth.

The ending of Grimes vs. Kushida and beginning of Io Shirai vs. Santana Garrett lost 32,000 viewers. Chris Jericho vs. Jungle Boy gained 135,000 viewers and AEW won 780,000 to 732,000.

In quarter six, the ending of Shirai vs. Garrett and Pete Dunne vs. Travis Banks gained 34,000 viewers, likely the switch back from NXT viewers who wanted to see the Jericho match. AEW lost 113,000 viewers taking two long commercial breaks and interviews.

In quarter seven, NXT lost 100,000 viewers for Dunne vs. Banks and AEW lost 29,000 viewers for Kris Statlander vs. Britt Baker.

The main event battle saw Baszler vs. Ripley gain 38,000 viewers to 725,000 while the Young Bucks vs. SCU lost 3,000 viewers to 645,000.

The overrun gained 145,000 for the Baszler vs. Ripley, which is usual levels of gain.

That’s one thing I think has only recently been picking up steam — AEW takes the most ill timed picture in picture and commercial breaks in wrestling history. They’ll cut to a break at critical points of a match/segment :dead:that is a major buzzkill

AEW Jericho is better than NWO Hollywood Hogan but can't outdraw NXT Rhea Ripley.

:mjlol:

AEW has been mismanaged from the beginning.

The Elite bought their own hype, believing they could give others the rub - and therefore mint new stars by losing.

Bucks Omega Page and even Cody were never that well established to pull that off.

They also haven't given "Jon Moxley" a live microphone in the middle of the ring yet.

They had the right idea to hit the ground running with a heel stable but they got the members wrong.

I'm objective. I think AEW generally has been the better show. However, this week was no contest. I watched AEW and then NXT back to back tonight, fast-forwarding some of course but NXT was the far better show and the main event was night and day.

Women's match was good, Rhea looked like a star. Tag title match on AEW was eh and I still don't understand having SCU as a team right now, push Scorpio as a singles

AEW can't even tell a cohesive story from week to week. No recap segments, important wrestlers go missing from week to week (No MJF, No fukkING Moxley), angles last 3 weeks, cutting to commericial during backstage segments and promos. Etc

No wonder NXT is beating them.:russ:
