:pacspit: The accounts of the two former intercept operators, who have never met and did not know of the other's allegations, provide the first inside look at the day to day operations of the huge and controversial US terrorist surveillance program.

"There is a constant check to make sure that our civil liberties of our citizens are treated with respect," said President Bush at a news conference this past February.

But the accounts of the two whistleblowers, which could not be independently corroborated, raise serious questions about how much respect is accorded those Americans whose conversations are intercepted in the name of fighting terrorism.

US Soldier's 'Phone Sex' Intercepted, Shared

Faulk says he and others in his section of the NSA facility at Fort Gordon routinely shared salacious or tantalizing phone calls that had been intercepted, alerting office mates to certain time codes of "cuts" that were available on each operator's computer.

"Hey, check this out," Faulk says he would be told, "there's good phone sex or there's some pillow talk, pull up this call, it's really funny, go check it out. It would be some colonel making pillow talk and we would say, 'Wow, this was crazy'," Faulk told ABC News.

Faulk said he joined in to listen, and talk about it during breaks in Back Hall's "smoke pit," but ended up feeling badly about his actions. :pacspit:

99% of the population shouldn't be worried about this. Nobody cares that your phone is a three way walkie talkie to your mom and girlfriend. You only should be worried if you're participating in illegal activities.

:what: nikkas should be able to freely participate in whatever legal activites they want

Juan Roberto's bald spot
following the battle between the emoprogs( emotional progressives) and the obamatons on twitter is eye opening. talk about two batshyt crazy wings of the left. greenwald and obama are probably the two biggest cult leaders in america judging by their followers behavior.

Go Obamatons!
On the low, the term emoprog actually explains Glen Greenwald to a t.
Partisan hacks make the world go round :stylin:
Fox News out there twisting like a pretzel to make the story fit into their 'thanks Obama!' business model, while trying not to emasculate the John Wayne/Raygun republican mystique is making me thirsty?

1) tangential, but not quite related..... Steve Wozniak interview: cloud computing compared to communism | BGR

2) Separately, Dr. Deagle and Texe Marrs go hard in the alternative media paint (again these are people that have worked for years in their field and then provide a broad perspective) ...... together they like Olajuwon and Shaq on the same team ...... :whew:

.....basically connects Singularity to the Prism......... the analysis is potent

Further, it's important to bear in mind I'm being called a traitor by men like former Vice President dikk Cheney. This is a man who gave us the warrantless wiretapping scheme as a kind of atrocity warm-up on the way to deceitfully engineering a conflict that has killed over 4,400 and maimed nearly 32,000 Americans, as well as leaving over 100,000 Iraqis dead. Being called a traitor by dikk Cheney is the highest honor you can give an American, and the more panicked talk we hear from people like him, Feinstein, and King, the better off we all are. If they had taught a class on how to be the kind of citizen dikk Cheney worries about, I would have finished high school.

Let's begin with these:

1) Why did you choose Hong Kong to go to and then tell them about US hacking on their research facilities and universities?

2) How many sets of the documents you disclosed did you make, and how many different people have them? If anything happens to you, do they still exist?

Answer:

1) First, the US Government, just as they did with other whistleblowers, immediately and predictably destroyed any possibility of a fair trial at home, openly declaring me guilty of treason and that the disclosure of secret, criminal, and even unconstitutional acts is an unforgivable crime. That's not justice, and it would be foolish to volunteer yourself to it if you can do more good outside of prison than in it.

Second, let's be clear: I did not reveal any US operations against legitimate military targets. I pointed out where the NSA has hacked civilian infrastructure such as universities, hospitals, and private businesses because it is dangerous. These nakedly, aggressively criminal acts are wrong no matter the target. Not only that, when NSA makes a technical mistake during an exploitation operation, critical systems crash. Congress hasn't declared war on the countries - the majority of them are our allies - but without asking for public permission, NSA is running network operations against them that affect millions of innocent people. And for what? So we can have secret access to a computer in a country we're not even fighting? So we can potentially reveal a potential terrorist with the potential to kill fewer Americans than our own Police? No, the public needs to know the kinds of things a government does in its name, or the "consent of the governed" is meaningless.

2) All I can say right now is the US Government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me. Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped.

I don't think people give a shyt (which is unfortunately). In a couple of days people will go back to their regular lives.
