I don't think people give a shyt (which is unfortunately). In a couple of days people will go back to their regular lives.

Again, there is nothing to give a shyt about. The scale is the only thing that has changed. Proactive law enforcement investigations have always followed the same model the NSA is following.

Transparency begets bureaucracy, which begets inaction...

Secrets are key to tipping the scales in our favor. No amount of whistle-blowing or outrage will change that or deter our government in engaging in such activity.

What Snowden detailed is not government abuse. Save your outrage for when it actually occurs, or perhaps channel your outrage and use it to address the half-dozen other legitimate abuses going on right now (drug war, drones, etc.).

So how about you post your govt name, email address and password, web search history, cell phone number records and passwords since you dont care about privacy. You got nothing to hide right unless your a criminal.

Idiots like you wont understand the impact of the govt and 3rd party contractors accessing collecting and storing all your info at will. Someone like snowden should have never had that type of access. Its not police going through your phone and email.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez said after Congress on Wednesday was given a classified briefing by NSA officials on the agency's previously secret surveillance activities:

"What we learned in there is significantly more than what is out in the media today. . . . I can't speak to what we learned in there, and I don't know if there are other leaks, if there's more information somewhere, if somebody else is going to step up, but I will tell you that I believe it's the tip of the iceberg . . . . I think it's just broader than most people even realize, and I think that's, in one way, what astounded most of us, too."

If you don't see a distinction between releasing metadata to the public and releasing it to a federal agency, how can we possibly have a sincere conversation about this issue?

Also, spare the ad hominem and try making an actual argument.

When the fukk was metadata released to the public? I'm convinced you have no idea what the fukk your talking about. Go back and reread the entire thread and let us know when you get a clue.

Either you care about your right to privacy or you don't. It's that simple. And its not about releasing data you simpleton. They are archiving all of your activity in every electronic medium possible. Maybe one day they will decide to go back prosecute you for that mp3 you downloaded 5 years ago...
