Now that the hype is completely gone, can we admit Kendrick Lamar doesn't have a classic verse

I''ve defended Kendrick from haters on here but that verse is very, very overhyped. He has several verses better than that one.
Yeah - I'm not saying its his best verse. I do think its a great verse that lived up to the hype. But, in terms of being classic, it's the verse that garnered the most attention and basically created a moment in hip hop.
I don't see how that doesn't qualify as a classic.

Because no one knows the actual voice

THOSE REVIEWS ARE TAINTED. ANYONE WHOM IS READING,GO TO RYM OR METACRITIC AND YOU'LL NOTICE THAT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY MORE PEOPLE REVIEWED KENDRICK'S ALBUMS THAN THEY DID DRAKE'S,NICKI'S COLE'S ETC.
WHY BECAUSE THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY OVERFLOODING THOSE SITES TO HELP BRAINWASH.
WHY ELSE WOULD HE HAVE WAY MORE RATINGS THAN nikkaS ON OR ABOVE HIS LEVEL OF FAME. AND BE CLEARI'M NOT TALKING WHAT HE WAS RATED VS WHAT THEY WERE RATED, BUT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE THAT TOOK TIME TO COME AND RATE.

yeah, the same way rap is just talking over a repetitive beat, try to dismiss it with oversimplifications but the fact remains its lightyears ahead of any jay and nas project.

Just like Kanye right? All that extra shyt doesn't matter if it doesn't sound great. You must be one of those abstract/different music lovers.

except all that matters is that it sounds good, BP3 had some of Jays most experimental production but the album was a piece of shyt. Only classic jay has is his debut and you can mostly attribute that to the type of music he was sampling at the time, music that is highly comparable to the type of music Kendrick is currently producing. Put those same lyrics over a different standard of production and Reasonable Doubt wouldn't be half as good as it turned out. The Blueprint has a nice call back to that style but by that point Jay Zs flow and lyrics were dumbed down that he couldn't do the music any justice, he got outshined by the production

Nas is an abysmal artist in every sense of the word, he struck lightening with illmatic and should consider himself lucky. He got his card pulled when Damian Marley renegaded him on every track on their collab tape

Jay-z has multiple albums better than any kendrick album though. no point in bringing up the worst from him. I think everybody knows he's been in a slump since he returned from retiring. LOL at "put those same lyrics over different production standard". RD sounds better than any kendrick joint the way it is. I agree with the damien marley thing, except a few tracks(don't know how thats relevant) but calling nas an abysmal artist while propping up kendrick is laughable. Even if kendrick was rapping over top notch hip hop beats(which he clearly isn't), his voice would ruin any chance of it "sounding good". On top of all that the shyt kendrick talked about on tpab has already been done better over better beats by other artists, including the guy you called abysmal. So no, not buying this "growth" bullshyt y'all try with certain artists.

Jay Z has his debut, thats all and I admit I prefer the album to any of Kendricks but thats mainly because I already stated I can't rock with the subject matter. If Jay Z took the same theme form TPAB and made Reasonable Doubt then I wouldn't fukk with it either, he wins by pure default, thats it and don't get it twisted, damien would have murked jay z the same way if he had the chance, point is both jay z and was are frail amatuer artist that can't evolve past spitting a basic 16. Their not artist, their rappers

LOL. "If this, then that". That's all I'm seeing. You're not saying anything. Yes jay-z and nas are rappers, but they are also hip hop artists. This is a Hip Hop forum. Y'all "artsy" fans kill me sometimes. outside of doom y'all usually prop up the wackest/corniest shyt. You're literally giving kendrick points over nas and jay for failing at rapping, and faux jazz. Some how that's made him an "artiste on a higher level".

You say jay only has his debut when he has joints on the next album better than any kendrick song.

thats all you want to see, you keep trying to stress jay z when I just tossed his name to compare what mediocrity really is. Jay Z has two good albums out of the 20 he's released, Kendrick has two classics(thats right), one critically acclaimed. It isn't even a worthy comparison
