Now that the hype is completely gone, can we admit Kendrick Lamar doesn't have a classic verse

Yeah - I definitely gotta listen to that. It's sitting on the computer. Elzhi is an absolute fukking beast though.
What did you think of those verses on the Kendrick album that I mentioned though?
Is there other shyt out there that's putting those verses to shame?
Those Kendrick verses are well put together, they wouldn't scratches top 10 on Leaders Poison (Elzhi album). That goes for introspective and storytelling tracks as well. Although I will say that I hold "How Much A Dollar Cost" in high standing as far as recent storytelling songs go.

When Kendrick does perform braggadocious tracks/verses like Control, Rigamortis, Untitled 07, etc. the lyrics are hardly ever as memorable. Still, he has his peers in the mainstream beat, but who's really his competition... Cole, 6Fraud, Big Sean, Wale? Some okay to good rappers, nobody crazy.

As a guy who thinks Drake isn't a credible MC and Kendrick is >>>> as an artist, who ever ghostwrote that 5 am in Toronto verse is a monster, cuz that verse shyts on Control quality-wise and didn't get half the hype because of the passive-agressive name drop factor.

In what world does Future make better music then anyone breh?

Debate with shi

In 10years when all you got is mumble mouthed bullshyt representing your culture.......remember you were one of the "lit" nikka promoting garbage and denouncing the social commentary that is so needed in music today, especially in these times.
Also stay out of threads that have to do with black empowerment topics. nikkas like you have no business opening up your dikk sucker to give your 2 cents on the matter.......get mad at that..........
No one is denouncing anything.

We're saying that we appreciate diversity.

And my "empowerment" doesn't come from music. Theres also these things called books, and lectures, and academia.

Some of you all are capped at music cause y'all are lost otherwise.

Let us have our entertainment.

Kendrick is good at making concept albums, he's not good at making singles or crafting hooks for that matter.

I find it interesting nobody mentioned ADHD, to this day that's honestly his most memorable song to me. That was his first real hit in California. Everybody out here was fukkin with that song, that shyt put his career on the map. That's the only time I've heard a Kendrick record get love like that... Technically Swimming Pools was bigger but it didn't have the same love in the streets that ADHD got.
Swimming Pools was so trash if he didn't have that hook on it.

Only classic jay has is his debut and you can mostly attribute that to the type of music he was sampling at the time, music that is highly comparable to the type of music Kendrick is currently producing. Put those same lyrics over a different standard of production and Reasonable Doubt wouldn't be half as good as it turned out. The Blueprint has a nice call back to that style but by that point Jay Zs flow and lyrics were dumbed down that he couldn't do the music any justice, he got outshined by the production
Imply that Kendrick has an album even close to being on par with Reasonable Doubt or The Blueprint brehs :russ::dead:
