I just listened to stein and Haynes podcast and Russillo had Woj on.

I'm thinking Zion getting moved this summer
Who would trade for Zion?

Who would trade for a guy who is always hurt and is so fukking fat that they had to put in his contract the maximum amount he could weigh, at the exact time his extension kicks in?

A lot of teams. :mjlol:

Dame and the Blazers are so delusional that they're probably cooking up a package as we speak.

Some other teams think he legit hates the Pelitanks and are on some "I can fix him" simp bs.

Others are just that desperate lol. Expect the trade market for Zion 10 Ton to be almost as huge as his waistline.

They have literally 1 pick left from LA. that's it

either 2024 or if they don't want the 2024 pick, they can choose to take 2025 instead

we gave them a haul and they did nothing with it. :mjlol:
:picard:

To me it’d have to be a team who’s youngish who could afford to trade a ton of future picks without fear they’re about to fall off. Also gotta be deep enough to trade assets but not end up heavily relying on Zion . Also need to have a high ceiling young star —-but who also has possible doubts—-to give up. By that criteria I’d say it’s:

OKC- centered around Chet or Giddey
Houston- centered around jaylen green
Cleveland- center around Evan Mobley

I just don't see anyone GM being like yeah let me risk my job for a dude who is always hurt and pushes the line of being 300 pounds so much he got a clause about it in his contract.

Cause trading for Zion is a job defining move. That shyt dont work out and I don't see anything that tells me it will, GM going to be out of work by the end of year 2.

And why would someone give up future picks, depth, and possibly future franchise players to draft a dude who is always hurt and habitually fat? Whats the logic? How does doing that make them better in the short and long term?

You see, the thing about a lot of NBA GMs is that they can be hilariously stupid.

For a recent example, did you see what Minny did to get Gobert?

NBA trade market got too much fukkery for us to expect them to act logically 24/7.

Well there’s a few reasons:

1- With the new salary structure if you have young talent it will behoove you to trade 2 for 1. Bc eventually even a 3rd option non-star is gonna earn the max (Giddey, jaylen Williams, Mobley. Houston in particular is about to have potentially 4 players who will all want max deals).

2- With those 3 teams in particular: Chet holmgreen is probably just as much a risk as Zion. Jaylen green is already a questionable fit and again they have a ton of talent they as Soo as next year it’s gonna be TOO much talent. And Mobley might already be pidgeon holed to just a defender. Another year as a big zes option his value could plummet

3- The upside :picard:

Garland-Mitchell-Zion
SGA-Giddey-Zion
Harden-Porter-Eason-Zion-Sengun

Sidenote: This new CBA leads me to believe that expansion is really coming very soon. A lot of mid range guys will get squeezed on this new CBA.

Knicks would trade for Zion in a heartbeat
That’s where the player empowerment thing makes a huge difference. Bc contrary to what media likes to push, the Knicks have practically no high level assets. Plenty of teams could outbid NY while not even giving their best offer. But all Zion would have to say is ‘I wanna go to NY’ and they’d make it happen

Risk reward is high, lots of teams would gamble on that. It's no different than gambling on a project in the draft.

:mjlol:

Who would trade for an unstoppable force that is 22 years old and averages 27 on like 63% from the field

He has nagging injuries but nothing chronic

You Coli nikkas always go too far

According to the Coli 90% of the league are untradeable :deadrose:

Probably half the league would be interested in Zion.

Obviously there's some big red flags with him but most GMs would talk themelves into it for the right price.

And on the other end, Griffin will never work in the league again if Zion fulfils his potential at another team. It's a crazy gamble for a GM to do.
