It's okay. But not quite what I want. I want a Blacktown.

So roll with me on this. Culturally, we got all the elements that others want to emulate right?

So we just need land to build our own communities. No problem!

Let's head out West!
Ya'll: :stopitslime::hhh:
Me::whoa:
Just hear me out!

13 Places to Find FREE Land for Homesteading in the US
So there are areas in Mid-western states where there is NOBODY that are literally giving away land for the freeskies.

Why can't we build a Blacktown? With the best music scene, club scene, holistic, sustainable living, specialized magnet school systems, museums, entertainment, literature, bars and pubs, community sports, colleges...
Free-Land.jpg

I know these places are in the middle of nowhere but all major hubs were once the middle of nowhere!

Come on u guys! Within a decade we could have a Lil Blacktown!
I just need some builders, general contractors, some business plans, movie industries...hospitals...
NC is fine but we could have NeoAfrica in the Mid-West...

:ahh::ahh::ahh:
No maam. screw tht shyt, no offense. tha south is our home base. too much history to ignore. Every non south aa community's roots can be traced back 2 the south. Imagine the political power we would have if all aas moved to the deep south. we could have entire state governments tht represent us, instead of just a few mayors in majority black cities. tht would be:ahh:. ppl say tht tht would only make it easier for whites 2 target us but i think the opposite. first off, they not gonna fukk up an entire region of the us by nuking us bcuz tht would be an international political embarrasment. it would be like cutting the nose off 2 spite tha face. the us would also lose from an economic standpoint bcuz foreign investors would not want to associate themselves with tht shyt. second off, being splintered all over the us with little pockets of black ppl here & there surrounded by swarths of white ppl would put us at an even worse disadvantage numbers wise if shyt were 2 ever pop off. if we congregated in one area, the south, especially with access to the sea and gulf, we would at least have a fighting shot, 300 spartans style lol. And if whites in tha south seen enough black ppl, especially blacks with momey, move down here, theyd do what they do best and leave lol. Tht would actually be the biggest problem, setting up a sturdy financial base so tht we couldnt just be pushed out. i know im bringing up a lot of points tht arent relevant to what u said, but i figured i would just use your post as a springboard to get my thoughts off :yeshrug:. Everybody feel free to comment or contest what ive said so far

I thought the thread was about states but everybody keeps bringing up individual cities. I don't see how its even a debate with MD being the richest state in the country with the 4th highest black population by percentage. PG Co in particular is the richest majority black county in the nation
Oh, yeah MD as a whole is great for black folks

How is ATL any better for black people than Baltimore? Also DC is right down the road. That's two metro areas that basically form one large metro area where black folks are doing very well
Lol, you really gonna ask this question breh? I actually been to Bmore as well a number of times. It is not comparable.

We are comparing states tho and a good portion of the DC metro is in MD. Baltimore and DC metros are sometimes combined into one becuz they overlap. There's areas right in between the two cities like Laurel and Columbia where black folks are doing great. Columbia ins in Howard Co which is one of the richest in the nation. Maryland is the richest state in the country and has the 4th highest percentage of black residents. I don't even see how this is a comparison. Id take MD over GA any day of the week
I used to work in Howard County and Baltimore. No just no

As a state Maryland sucks for Black folks. The majority are broke. I lived in Bowie, they got money but without government jobs and contracts, it sucks there as bad as Delaware. Honestly, it sucks everywhere for Blacks if we think about the collective.

As far as the individual, it's better than most. Bowie while having a lot of white owners of the stores and NBW with rich cac husbands giving them business start up money, it was nice to be around Black folks which was NOT badly struggling like most Blacks in most cities including Atlanta. Everyone there was a pay check away from bad drama and pain.

Atlanta sucks for Black collective too. They are going through gentrification but I can say for the individual, it's a reasonable city, especially the suburbs. Really, that's the only thing making Atlanta a value city for many Blacks. Due to shyt public transportation, it keeps the cost the brubs low and makes Atlanta an option for those 40-50k brehs and brehettes.

Clearly dudes who are doing well are living well in Atlanta but A LOT are struggling and yes, the struggle is real. Unlike DC Metro, Atlanta is very affordable as a couple. Baltimore to a degree is affordable but their brubs are sky high. Anne Arundel isn't cheap. Howard is far from cheap. Baltimore County isn't cheap. It's very expensive in Maryland and the land isn't much either. But you have to remember, Maryland is heavily dense, GA like TX, isn't and they like space. But that's slowly changing as more companies move to GA.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Atlanta crime wise from brehs that actually lived there and moved out.

Nah, there's still a lot of work that needs to be done here. Ranked dead last in upward mobility

Why It’s So Hard to Get Ahead in the South

That doesn't mean someone with a degree can't come here and do well. Moving to Charlotte has been a major boost to many black people's careers, including mine.

The article is based on people who are born into poverty, moving up into the top tiers of income. Those people most likely do not have a college education and yes it's tougher because the jobs here are geared towards professionals. There ain't no longshoremen or union workers making 6 figs here.
