The marjority of mma fights are between real fighters. Fighters that would make your average viking on bezerker rage look like a snuff film in hand to hand combat.

My regular training partners include brolic military personel who have killed with their bare hands. A viking really isnt on my list of opponents whos hand to hand skills id respect. Stop it. I'm not agitated in the slightest. In fact I am greatly amused. Here we have a 35 year old 5'9" 180 lb. The people making these quotes were aware of their inferiority to the berserk warriors. The same way the Polish, British, and Russians understood the blitzkrieg tactic being a superior method and therefore proclaimed the Germans to be powerful.

They might of used more "colorful" words but they were simply admitting the Viking's dominance so claiming that they weren't "that good of warriors" is absurd.

Modern fight promotion is all about building up guys with easy fights and tons of bullshyt, setting up fights manipulatively with no respect to viability of contenders, and just going for maximum money. Many MMA fighters are limited or unskilled, and thats even in the UFC let alone minor leagues.

Some amazing guys out there, and the general quality level will only continue to improve, but I'll take the dudes trained from birth to murder every single time.
