When you find yourself making games for a competitor that you originally never intended to be on their platform because you can reach more consumers on their platform than your own that says all that needs to be said. That’s not a win.

If the Xbox Series consoles were at 50 million+ sold that wouldn’t be the case. It happened because the market took a look at the Xbox Series consoles and collectively yawned.

The most popular games in the industry are mostly going to be games that reach a wide audience. Sony's advantage is they get those games and they make their own quality games that are constantly either in the mix for game of the year or win it annually.

I know you think it doesn't matter but clearly there's a reason Microsoft came to Sony's door to make games for them vs Sony being the one to go to Microsoft trying to put games on their platform (outside of Bungie who still operates independently from Sony and the MLB).

The only way you seeing Last of Us on an Xbox is from the Max app streaming the HBO series.

I mean obviously multiplayer games, sports games, and live service games are going to be more played than a 10-20 hour single player story game. The argument itself is faulty. Hell Hogwarts Legacy was the best selling game of 2023 and it's not on that list. Guess why.
