Do you live in the Tri-State area? Or have been around a bunch of Puerto Ricans? I have and like I stated I have many in my family. Puerto Ricans from my experience are one of the most black conscious behind Haitians(if you count them as latinos which they technically are) and Brazilians. I have seen many even the white looking ones like one of my pasts friends(who's now in the marines) claim how they have black members in their family or part black with pride. Again just my experience. Which is why I asked you do you live around Puerto Ricans.
Rapper N.O.R.E is Puerto Rican and yet he identifies as both black and PR.
Mike was more than an entertainer. He done so much for the black people around the world that you couldn't comprehend. He owned Paul McCarthy publishing on top of that.

At the end of the day, even though it is debatable that most PR's have some black ancestry, most PR's don't identify as black because there is no one drop rule in Puerto Rico like there is in America. 
Hella black people in America are fukked in the head because of all the rampant white racism we have here. We have people in America who are much, much whiter than they are black preaching death to all white people on some black Neo-Nazi shyt. 
But being white in America is an exclusive club. 
If you are half-black/half-white, America sees you as black, if you are half-Asian/half-white, white America sees you as Asian. White supremacy in America is blatant as fukk. Even if you are a quadroon who looks as white as the rapper Logic, white America still considers you as black as Wesley Snipes. 
Americans don't understand the varying racial politics of Latin America. Hella black people in Latin America would be considered "white" or "brown". Nearly 80% of PR's on the island self-identify as white even though it has been proven that most PR's are a generational mix of white, black and taino. But "whites" in Latino countries are not like the peckerwoods we have here in America culturally.

Again do you live around a bunch of Puerto Ricans or even the Tri-State area? Which was my main question. Since my experience is different from some of these posters, including your one. Many people on here who said they are from the tri-state area share the same experience as me by what they have posted.
"Pro-black" is a strong word since not even the majority of AA's are pro-black themselves. Black conscious Puerto Ricans; especially the black ones are not rare.

Most Latinos in America identify as Latino because the culture is different. You don't see Mexicans claiming to be Native American just because they native blood do you? Same thing with Latinos with black blood. Look at Joel Ortiz. He could just be a regular lightskin nikka, could at least pass as one. But he reps being PR and Latino more than anything. He even had a song called "Latino". Latino culture, as a whole, doesn't have the same dynamics of American race and racism.
