This is not the case in NY(don't know about the island):wow:

From my experience Puerto Ricans in NY hate white people more than black people, even the white looking ones. Just saying.

Puerto Ricans are not like immigrant group(they're technically not immigrants) where they try to look for white acceptance. They have already assimilated into American culture so theres no need for them to.

Good point.

I also met some chill Colombians. I was surprised that the Colombians girls I use to talk to my past semester were hardcore hip hop fans. :ehh:
Colombians are some of the most racist latinos I have ever met

And I'm half colombian :heh:

Obviously my family isn't like that or I wouldn't have been born

And when I say "my family" I don't mean my extended family back in Colombia

I mean my family that was raised in America

Most Latinos in America identify as Latino because the culture is different. You don't see Mexicans claiming to be Native American just because they native blood do you? Same thing with Latinos with black blood. Look at Joel Ortiz. He could just be a regular lightskin nikka, could at least pass as one. But he reps being PR and Latino more than anything. He even had a song called "Latino". Latino culture, as a whole, doesn't have the same dynamics of American race and racism.

But we're not talking about Central Americans whose culture differs greatly from latinos of the Caribbean. Latin American culture as a whole isn't a monolithic entity. And like I said Puerto Ricans have assimlated into American culture a long time ago and so they became more consious. You can bring uo Joel Ortiz, but what about N.O.R.E or Lloyd Banks?

Straight denial they won't even acknowledge
that shyt ....brainwashed as fuk , just look at the history it tells you another story. Its not only them its the whole shyt but a few ppl are finally creating movements for the ppl to wake and spread the knowledge.

Its alot them that dont really connect deep with they culture(vast history, background, politics etc) just assimilate to others (even when they can speak they native language/family tradition) within the ones already born or raise here . They don't see the racism from they own place but can see the racism here in America

"This denial comes in the form of Black Puerto Ricans claiming there is no racism, yet they consider themselves white on self-identification forms. It comes in the form of Black Puerto Ricans claiming there is no racism, yet they usually do not even consider attending university in PR as it "is just not for them." It comes in the form of Black Puerto Ricans claiming there is no racism, yet they know that the highest paying professions and most lucrative jobs are reserved for "Los Finos," or the white elite Puerto Ricans."

That why I inform myself about my ppl here and back home

Not going to argue isn't this. But the Colombian girls I knew were very into Hip Hop and hung around a lot of black people. Though they appeared "mixed" and did not refer to themselves as black. But there was definitely no racism.

No doubt

I've noticed a lot of non blacks tend to leave hip hop alone as they get older and start getting into their original culture, especially women.

That is another thing that they slide :mjpls:

They see black folk as 'cool' and youthful, but move away as they get older. Kind of like the Hippies of the 60s that became corporate Reagan supporters of the 80s.
