I agree.Nobody checked for tupac when he 1st dropped 2pacalypse now
He didnt dominate nothing until he died
true story, outside of oakland the rest of hiphop ain't really take notice of Pac until "
Strictly for my nikkas" when "
I get around" and "
Keep ya Head up" dropped
then 3 years after that the nikka died.
People overate his dominance IMO. He had a nice lil 12 month run where he was running with deathrow sitting on top of the world dissing everybody. But his reign was short like leprechauns b.
and to keep it 100, Hit em Up dropped in the summer of 96
(June, July something like that), only after that Pac went on a rampage and started dissing everyone.
I don't think NY was shook, its just that the nikka died before any of them could drop an album and respond to him. Lil Kim and Jay Z already had diss tracks lined up and ready for the nikka but had to take them off their records after he died. There was only a 3,4 month window of opportunity to respond after Pac dropped Hit em Up
If u pop shyt and then die before nikkas can respond it don't mean u had nikkas shook, it just means u took a huge L and nikkas kept it moving
u saw how nonchalant Nas was when Ed Lover announced Pac's death at his concert.
::: Ed lover stops show and tells the crowd that Pac died :::
