That's not a terrible comparison for MJ and LeBron. Hard to see how Kobe fits in there considering that he wasn't ever winning dominant like that.....

If MJ is Tyson and Bron is Floyd, then Kobe is Oscar de la Hoya.

:snoop:

KOBE HAS THE GOAT PLAYOFF RECORD VS 50+ WIN TEAMS

ONLY 4 TEAMS IN NBA HISTORY HAVE FACED 4 50 WIN TEAMS IN ONE PLAYOFF RUN

AND KOBE WAS ON 3 OUT OF THOSE 4 TEAMS LOLLLLLLL

IF KOBE IS OSCAR DE LA HOYA THEN LEBRON IS BUTTERBEAN

1. In the clip you posted Stern said Kobe is right there with Jordan......Now mind you. Stern also said Lebron might be the greatest player ever before Lebron ever won a championship(2009).

2. Mark Jackson says Kobe will go down as the greatest ever...That was conjecture(Prediction).....Jackson said this about Kobe back in 2006 during a halftime show.....He never said it again after 2010......Jackson has always maintained that he thought Jordan was the Goat and Lebron had the Goat career.........Mind you, this is the same M. Jackson who also said the bubble championship was the hardest ring to win ever.

3. Gentry said he thought Kobe was the best player at that moment after losing to Kobe in a playoff game (2010)..The reporter tried to get Gentry to say Kobe was better than Jordan and Gentry said "No, I'm not saying that".....

The problem with posting a video like this is that Lebron had not yet won a championship...At the time Starn made his comment Kobe had 4 rings to Lebon's 0...So of course Kobe would get the nod over Lebron......Lebron over the next 10 years (2011-2020)...would go to 9 NBA finals and win 4 championships and have countless great playoff performances.

Nikka....this video is one video.

It was being talked about nonstop in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. I do not have a time machine. I cannot transport you back to 2009. I cannot post every single ESPN segment from back then. I am not God. Either you are very very young talking about a time period you cannot remember or you are lying. Because ESPN was asking everyday if Kobe was better than Jordan. If you're asking this question and having debates, then you were obviously considered top 5.

Your last line....I don't think LeBron is better than Kobe but, let's say he is. If Kobe was being considered as #2 before LeBron won rings. LeBron winning rings and passing Kobe should just mean that LeBron goes above Kobe and Kobe drops down to #3 or to #4 maybe. They should be peers basically. It shouldn't mean that Kobe goes from top 5 to top 15. Bron passing Kobe.....again I don't believe he did but, for argument's sake......Bron passing Kobe does not mean Kobe drops ten slots. That is the modern media and Bron Stans trying to erase this man's legacy.

As opposed to going 7 games against an Aaron Brooks led rockets. But 50 wins!

THAT ROCKETS TEAM WAS A MONSTER

CASUALS WOULDNT KNO

SHANE BATTIER N RON ARTEST BOTH FINISHED TOP 5 IN DPOY THAT YEAR

THATS LIKE THE DEFENSIVE VERSION OF HAVIN 2 PLAYERS WHO FINISH TOP 5 IN MVP VOTING

BUT SINCE CASUALS ONLY SEE OFFENSE THEY WOULD NEVER GET IT

YAO PLAYED HALF THE SERIES, THEY ALSO HAD A YOUNG KYLE LOWRY AND SCOLA WAS A BALLER TOO

SO YEA THATS A LIL DIFFERENT THAN CARON BUTLER ERA WIZARDS WHO WOULD BE LIKE AN 11TH PLACE TEAM IN THE WEST OR SOME SHIIT

You just perfectly proved my point, dumbass. Hyping up wins against mediocre opponents who weren't true title contenders was de la Hoya's whole career. :laff:

de la Hoya had a massive fan base before he even did anything, and he ended up with 11 titles, but everyone knows his titles were relatively easy wins against mediocre competition. He never had the victories against true greats that would define a GOAT. But his insecure LA fans constantly try to shoehorn him into GOAT discussions even though the general boxing community knows he doesn't belong there.

You come in here yelling that same nonsense about 50-win-teams, knowing that beating some random 50-win-team has NEVER been the measure of a GOAT. No one gives a shyt if Kobe beat the Deron Williams Jazz or the Ron Artest Rockets, those squads add nothing to the resume. You want to brag about a 2010 Suns team that played no defense and was led by 35yo Steve Nash, or a 2009 Nuggets squad that never made it out of the 1st round otherwise cause they couldn't beat the Deron Williams Jazz?

You unintentionally sound EXACTLY like an Oscar de la Hoya fan. :russ:

Yo, is he serious? He just hyped Artest and Battier as being the equivilent of having two MVP candidates? Let's see what he says about them in other contexts:

-SHANE BATTIER WAS A GOOD-NOT-GREAT DEFENDER WHO NEVER MADE 1ST TEAM..KOBE USED TO COOK HIM REGULARLY.
OLD ASS ARTEST WAS WAY OUT HIS PRIME N COULD NO LONGER EVEN MOVE LATERALLY
world peace was an old man who could barely move laterally any longer
You take Kobe off that team and that team lookin like nothin but a buncha bums, 20 win team in the west, maybeeee .. And u know it, so why say some dumb shiit like this? Stacked smfh

He's literally talking about the 09/10 version of Artest in those posts.....so in May 2009, Artest is a monster defender who can be the best player on a great 50-win team.....but by October 2009, Artest is an old man who can't move laterally and would be the 3rd option on a 20-win team.

Do you even listen to how rock-headed you sound with these contradictions?

YAO PLAYED HALF THE SERIES, THEY ALSO HAD A YOUNG KYLE LOWRY AND SCOLA WAS A BALLER TOO

Yao only played 3 games, the Rockets beat the Lakers TWICE after Yao went out in the series. 22yo Kyle Lowry was a 5ppg player who shot 33% in the playoffs, why the fukk did you even mention him? And Scola was a 12ppg player who had only come to the NBA a year earlier.

Don't you see how much you played into my narrative? I accused you of overhyping Kobe's opponents, and you proceed to brag about Battier, "Old ass Artest", a baby Lowry who wasn't doing shyt and Luis Scola. :laff:

@Sccit just hyped a baby Lowry who averaged 5ppg on 33% shooting that postseason, but we're the ones who don't remember what was going on? Lowry wasn't even their starting point guard, I'm pretty sure Sccit forgot who the PG was because he was the leading scorer in the series and Sccit didn't say his name at all. :russ:

@Sccit called May 2009 Artest the equivalent of an MVP candidate, the SAME Artest who he shyts on as a 4th option on the 09-10 Lakers, but we're the ones who forgot what was going on?

In one context Sccit says that Battier is an MVP candidate on defense, but in a different conversation he's a "good not great defender" who gets cooked regularly?

Like I said in the other conversation, you just nuthug this guy all day long no matter how ridiculous he is, then don't say anything when he goes completely out of line on the racism and the disrespect.

FACTS ARE FACTS, THEY WERE BOTH TOP 5 DPOY CANDIDATES THAT YEAR.. AND YEA ARTEST LOST A STEP WHEN HE CAME TO LA, WHATS YOUR POINT?

THAT ENTIRE ROCKETS TEAM WAS ALL ABOUT DEPTH AND DEFENSIVELY THEY WERE GREAT… NO WAY TO SPIN THAT

The '07 Pistons were playing MUCH closer to their peak than the 50-win '91 Pistons were, and MJ still gets credit for beating them and pulling up to a 1-3 record against their squad, right?
A team three years removed from winning a championship is closer to its peak than a team that was the defending champs?

And Kobe still has 5 rings to Lebrons 4, and there's an argument to be made for 3, because most people don't feel he wins that last ring if not for covid and the bubble.

Regardless, Kobe has more rings than Lebron. Lebron doesn't win another ring before retirement unless he does some serious team hopping within the next couple of years.

So I say all that to say.... what is your point?? :what:

They going out sad bro, you refute their bs kobe takes and all they can do is troll and laugh. I dont get why his stans do this, kobe was a great player no one can credibly claim otherwise but he isnt top 10 all time at all, he is closer to steph curry and AI than he is to lebron or magic. He won one single mvp in his 2 decade career and you can argue chris paul had a strong case that year, for the vast majority of his championship rings he wasnt the best player on it. Thats fine. Just stop the bs propaganda
