It don't add up and never did. I know for 100% fact that Prime Kobe would torch Bird, Big O and Magic. It's always been haterade. At bare minimum, he's top 7. Yep. And I made a thread about this a couple months ago because in the last 4 or 5 years there's been an effort to write Kobe out of the conversation. Brehs even tried to tell me that nobody ever had Kobe in the GOAT convo and I remember when the brotha first came into the NBA, he was Jordan's heir apparent. Everybody knew and said that at the time and for years after.
It sickens me how people used the last couple of years to quietly tear down his legacy while pretending to celebrate him. And I say this as someone that hated on Kobe hard during the last 6 to 7 years of his career.
And that's how I know that people used to say he was one of the top players to ever play the game, top 5, cause I used to be on the other side of that convo.
But like I said earlier, to boost up Lebron, they feel they have to downplay Kobe and that just ain't right.

They're liars. Bron Stans and some of Gen Z (not all) are the worst. Gen Z was 10 years old in 2010. They didn't experience it because they were little kids then, so it didn't happen in their mind. And Bron Stans know damn well it happened but they're gonna lie and pretend that it didn't.

1. In the clip you posted Stern said Kobe is right there with Jordan......Now mind you. Stern also said Lebron might be the greatest player ever before Lebron ever won a championship(2009).
2. Mark Jackson says Kobe will go down as the greatest ever...That was conjecture(Prediction).....Jackson said this about Kobe back in 2006 during a halftime show.....He never said it again after 2010......Jackson has always maintained that he thought Jordan was the Goat and Lebron had the Goat career.........Mind you, this is the same M. Jackson who also said the bubble championship was the hardest ring to ever win.
3. Gentry said he thought Kobe was the best player at that moment after losing to Kobe in a playoff game (2010)..The reporter tried to get Gentry to say Kobe was better than Jordan and Gentry said "No, I'm not saying that".....
The problem with posting a video like this is that Lebron had not yet won a championship...At the time Stern made his comment Kobe had 4 rings to Lebon's 0...So of course Kobe would get the nod over Lebron......Lebron over the next 10 years (2011-2020)...would go to 9 NBA finals and win 4 championships and have countless great playoff performances.
