I can't wait for the 3rd book and the Battle of Jakku. This whole thing about Sidius needing someone to protect something on Jakku is pretty intriguing.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Snoke being this mysterious being on Jakku who is uncovered by the Imperials (possibly Rax), or Snoke is found by one of these Imperial research teams out in the Unknown Regions at a "source of the dark side" (most likely). And Jakku being a key staging point between these UR missions and the rest of the galaxy, it could still have some heavy involvement with Snoke.

On a unrelated note, what are your thoughts on Finn's arc in the ST potentially following a path similar to Kyle Katarn? Defector, now it seems he is working with New Republic intelligence in Episode 8; perhaps he does still become a Jedi, it just isn't until the end of Episode 9.

I dont really know who Katarn is. Im not a gamer, and never really played any of the games, so Im not familiar with his story.

Im on the fence on if I want or think Finn is Jedi.

Reasons why I like the thought of him being a Jedi:

1. The Force was the reason his stormtrooper brainwashing didnt take
2. He was able to handle the lightsaber. I dont like the thought of just anyone being able to wield a lightsaber. Makes it less special and connected to the Force.

Reasons why I dont like him being a Jedi:
1. Just seems a little too convenient for the story.
2. Why couldn't Kylo sense it in him?

If you rewatch the scene where the Hosnian system is destroyed, it appears that Finn hears the screams on Hosnian Prime before he turns around to see the beam through space.That may have just been an editing error, but if it was intended it must mean some degree of force sensitivity.

In regards to 2, perhaps he did sense it on Jakku? I haven't read that part of TFA novelization maybe it's mentioned there?

I know what you mean. It can devolve into complaining merely about the concept of a female lead, and as you said, just generally a tendency for a lack of understanding on the SW universe.

I've been thinking of posting occasionally on a SW forum as well, are there any you recommend? I have a mostly unused, nearly decade old account on The Force Net/Jedi Council Forums from when I was literally 12 :pachaha: and it seems to be the premier forum, though other Star Wars sites have shown up in recent years.

I didn't think anyone on here fukked with Rebels. Whenever I bring it up, people be like :scust:. I thought it was aright, but I just binge watched S2, and :banderas:. Can't wait for S3. And now Thrawn is byke, with a new book written by Zahn too :blessed:. I told folks that a lot of the EU would be brought into the fold, either directly, or loosely based characters a la Jacen/Kylo.

I started it, but then bailed quickly because I it felt like they were getting a little spoilery. Not that Prinze would blatantly spoil stuff, but I think if you read between the lines - there was more given away than I wanted to learn.

Also, last season I was annoyed they did that 1 hour special in the summer then nothing until the fall. Now Im itching for more rebels and wish they'd have a summer special episode. :lolbron:
