What kind of popcorn machine do you have. I'm looking on Amazon at the West Bend 4oz model for $72, and the Paragon Theater Pop 8oz model for about $500...no way am I getting this one. Do the popcorn really taste as good as the movie theater popcorn?
I’ve got the West Bend!

To make legit popcorn, you need butter flavored coconut oil, and Flavacol seasoning.

Hi
I enjoy going to the movies when there is a limited release of something that isn't easy to see yet or my friends want to chill. Otherwise, I wait for the stream.

You shouldn't have went out if you couldn't afford it without crying. I'm sure its a dollar movie around somewhere get it how u live.

I used to love the dollar show, I went and saw Bowfinger like 6 times :russ: I don't see those around anymore.

Also, I'll sidestep the snarky comment and say it's not so much that I couldn't afford it or didn't have a good time. It's that at the time my youngest was too young to go to a movie and be chill, I hate when kids are loud, crying, can't sit still ect....so instead of taking all my kids to see FFH, I did it for myself and my bro.

Thinkin about taking the whole fam is what made me be like meh...work on your home theater set up. Keep in mind that "don't go out if you can't afford it" talking point is exactly why people are crying that theaters and 'cinema' are dying.

Of course there are Coli brehs in here who say screw the theatre, I’m going to watch this off some sketchy site on my iPad :mjlol:

And you don’t have to buy food at the movies. Eat at home or somewhere else before you go:mjlol:
:dead:

It's 2022...if your home theater isn't a big screen connected to a set top box, what are you doing? :heh:

Some of y'all are tripping. You will still never be able to replicate the theater-going experience...and even annoying teenagers or 20-somethings are part of the experience. The reactions from strangers during scenes trumps the reaction from your friends/family at home.

If you can't go 2-3 hrs without using the bathroom...and you don't have to buy popcorn, snacks or drinks their. Hell, worst case, bring your own....but I never eat at the movies.

Then the dollar movies for the classics are hella fun as well. Hell, I'm going to Blobfest next month and I've seen The Blob hundreds of times...but the experience (costumes, run out reinactment, B-movies galore) and the double feature in the retro theater.

Those dollar movies seem to attract the worst kind, and that can be a little risky.

Down here in the Atlanta metro, I was getting a little too much friction when I become a regular at any of these theaters, and I think it had a lot to do with me always going alone, which shouldn't had been anybody's business. Or it had to do with me having the freedom to pop up anytime of the day or night, on any given day. This friction came from certain employees, and certain members of the security staff. Then they have too many untrained 16 year-olds working these jobs. I got tired of that mess. I've grown to understand the people in charge really want to keep it this way, and they can have it. I went back to going only two or three times a year at the most.

I live in the wrong city to see a lot of movies. LA movies cost almost $20 per ticket (no extras). If I lived in Orlando, where tickets were five bucks, I would probably see a hundred movies a year.
