Never felt Raimi got Peter Parker nor Spider-Man right. But I enjoyed the films back in the day because it took comic book movies to a new level. Then the Batman films took that next step. Since then Marvel has been the best at bringing comic book characters to life, remaining faithful to the books, all while making it believable in real world situations.

i dont consider the avengers b team, i think they are the Marvel brand to the t

Hulk is a top 5 marvel character, cap is top 10, thor and ironman i always considered lower tier but they came the fukk up too...

everyone else in the avengers is a fill in ehh character sans a few (vision).

xmen have more ehh characters but their rogues gallery is deep as fukk and you can name 10 dope xmen off the top of ya head at any time

wolverine
cylops
collosus
nightcrawler
jean grey
storm
beast
archangel
iceman
professor x

and thats leaving out

psylocke
gambit
shadowcat
cable
bishop
havok
polaris
rogue

not even fair to count magneto

The only thing about that XMen vs Avengers argument is once you go member for member then a break down happens. Xmen are great as a group but individually.... I'm not sure masses would want to see a movie about them like that.

Now Wolverine gets a pass cuz well hell he's already like 2 movies out and he does have a naturally interesting story and they picked a great guy to personify him. I would personally go see a Cyclops movie cuz I'm kinda a Cyclops fan but for years I've heard many peeps shyt on him. After that.... man aint now one really pressing to see a Beast movie or Storm film or Colossus and etc.

Maybe Gambit will get another pass but he prolly wont even do the 1st Hulk numbers.

I think the Avengers as individuals are more interesting than the Xmen and its probably partially cuz the Xmen aint fully under the Marvel banner or MCU

With that said... Avengers been surpassed Xmen and Spidey

I love The Avengers growing up but they weren't more popular than Spidey or X Men. So I cosign this post even though Spidey and X-Men has had some suspect Film adapations and The Avengers 1 was fire and 2 is looking hard too. So movie wise we have to see but how do I feel? I love Spidey as a character and I feel X Men had by far one of the most compelling plots in comic history that parallel's racism and social injustice. Also everyone unique cool powers just make it rich with so many characters. Sh!t to accent the point they actually made a Spidey and X men collabo game on SNES:

x-men are a bunch of simp pussies. they fukking whine about everything and manage to make themselves the victims in every situation:mjlol:

whenever they're needed they never want to help normal humans. they're fukking useless as a group and can't go 5 minutes without wanting to kill each other.

if my planet were in peril, i would call the Avengers over the X-men EVERY fukking time. once captain america speaks, everyone sits the fukk down:banderas:

The Avengers have to deal with Hydra, Micheal Korvac, Thanos, Kang the Conqueror, Loki, and Ultron. The X-men still stuck with Apocalypse:mjlol:

I really don't get why people keep reading X-men. Avengers will be more popular than X-men if they already aren't

The x men franchise is a bit :flabbynsick: today thanks to the combination of a Chuck Austen, two consecutive garbage movies in X3 and origins, the lack of a cartoon, no good games, and marvel themselves pushing the avengers instead because of the film rights.

Historically, I would still consider them the goat marvel super team. Yeah, the avengers are riding high today, but how many of their comic stories really measure up to the Dark Phoenix Saga? Days of Future Past? Proteus? God Loves Man Kills? Frank Miller's Wolverine? Even today, people are still :krs: over the cartoon and remember the theme song, and the arcade x men is still a classic.

The franchise is Larry Holmes today but at its peak, x men definitely >>>>>>>>>>> Avengers imo, and I can see it coming back.

I agree with you that they gotta chill on all the infighting in the comics though, and they need to give someone other than wolverine the juice in the movies. They ran him into the ground :snoop:

The XMen and Spiderman movies are overrated.

They were big for their time because it was like "Oh man FINALLY" but they were heavily flawed.

Now if we're talking comic wise that's a whole other thread...
This a 1000%...

I'm atleast a generation older than most of the posters here, but I was collecting comics since the very early 90s and I can tell you that this without a doubt is true.

I have my ol Wizard Price guide from 1992 where the first plans of a Spiderman movie were being discussed with an anticipation release of 1996....and that is exactly what the reaction was...it was like 30 years in the making....and it eventually came out in 2002.

Spiderman and XMen are obviously Marvel's flagship titles...so they will always command bigger turnouts

Now I'm a fan of all of the movies....but I think the Avengers first movie is better than all of the X Men movies...even though I'm a big fan of the first 3 X Men titles.

IMO the best Marvel movies thus far are Spiderman 2 (2004) and the Avengers just on the sheer quality of the action and the storyline.

Be honest with yourselves. 75% of x-men cant hold down a solo movie. As a group i agree x-men>avengers. But judging character for character avengers wins by a landslide

:scust: at the thought of a Cyclops/Storm/Beast/Nightcrawler/Psylocke movie :mjlol:

Only x-men interesting enough to have the focus solely on them are Wolverine and Magneto.

DOFP> Any Marvel Studios flick IMO.:manny:

Stop lying to yourself. It wasn't even better then first class which isn't better then Cap 2.

It's not a fair comparison tho....the avengers are a team who came out as individual story lines first. Capt America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor (the main characters) etc ...already had a huge fan base as themselves...they came together like the dream team in the early 60s. I think most people think of them as individuals first before they think of them as parts of a team.

The XMen's characters were built specifically within a the team and because of that, there was much less known about them as individuals and they were always much less popular apart by comparison.

But at the same time then what is thread starter trying to compare??? Obviously the MCU is way more popular then the X-men flicks :francis:

The lack of a new cartoon and the way the X-MEN movies are done will hurt the brand in the long run.:yeshrug:. Characters outside of Wolverine just haven't been made to be accessible as the Avengers characters who right now are far more popular than them. Next 5-10 years aren't looking good unless they drastically change it up:manny:.
